Tara Angkor Hotel

We had a two night stay mainly to use as a base for the temples. The hotel is smart and clean and the staff were helpful and promptly responded to any request. The pool area is a welcome place of tranquility after a day visiting the temples and it’s a bonus that the pool stays open until 10pm and you can order food and drinks from the small bar area at the side. The breakfast buffet was pretty standard fair in both options and quality and was busy when we at around 8.30 with limited seating available. The location is outside the centre of Siem Reap which means you will need to take a taxi or Tuk Tuk for a 10 minute trip but there seamed to be Tuk Tula available outside and you can negotiate the price which should be around $3

Fair hotel on handy location to supermarket, museum and town (which is a tuk tuk ride away for $3. I noticed one of the 4 stars outside hotel had been painted out leaving 3 stars which I would say is about right for this hotel. Our first room was a very long way from elevators as there are long corridors and as a consequence our cases took ages to arrive from hotel lobby. When we went into the bathroom and turned the tap on the tap disintegrated and fell into the basin. Also noticed that there was no bedside table on one side of the bed. Through our tour guide we asked for a room swap to a closer room and also one with sink/taps that worked which was accommodated and out next room was a lot better. We had difficulty getting a lounger around the pool on both days we tried as that area was very busy from early in the day. Happy hour was good and breakfast was plentiful

this was a trip a deal hotel. Great location, just a short tuk tuk ride, tuk tuks are at the front door, to pub street. Good sized room, bathroom had bath, shower,toilet also supplied body wash, shampoo and conditioner. great breakfast selection

Only reason 4/5 was due to air conditioning in room otherwise would have been 5 Good location 2-3 dollars to centre on tuk tuk Tuk tuk drivers will take you around area for a good price Room was nice large comfortable bed Good shower It’s not modern furniture if that’s what your after Only downside was AC it worked but not enough Breakfast great selection Lovely staff - doorman so lovely Pool area small with a few sunbeds but didn’t struggle to get a dip in pool after excursions Although some felt it was their own personal exercise pool and were most put out people just wanted to cool off Drinks good selection price was ok Didn’t eat at hotel but people we spoke to said it was nice You can eat as cheap as you want in centre lots of street food or pub street where there were plenty of restaurants around Can recommend Mesa great cocktails and lovely food

3rd time staying here. Always very good.

First experience of Cambodia and hotel on face value the rooms seemed rather dated as lots of dark wood. However we spent 3 days here and the whole place really grew on me as did the country. Where ever we went in the hotel the staff were so respectful and kind and hard working Breakfast offered a good selection and a bread toasting machine which only needed the bread in once to make a good toast ! We had a snack by the pool with drinks which was good and the pool area itself was perfect after a day of sight seeing.

Good location for nearby tours

Spacious rooms (Deluxe Room). Cold A/C. Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy to get a Tuk Tuk to downtown area. Only complaint is that the pool area is very small and there were never any open seating as there were only a handful of chairs/loungers.

We had a fabulous stay and the staff were excellent. The room was generous with an enormous, comfortable bed. There was a small but nicely equipped gym. The pool was really great and it stayed open until 10.00 pm. After a long day of walking around Angkor Wat in the intense heat, it was a refreshing and relaxing oasis. The restaurant was reasonable but not exceptional. Breakfast was ok and the hotel tried to accommodate many different palates (Asian, European etc). We had the option to eat in or outdoors. It was great to have a filtered water cooler to fill up drinks bottles for the day. The concierge was very helpful and booked an evening event for us and the front desk were only too happy to exchange smaller denomination dollars to use to negotiate with tuk tuk drivers. We experienced a problem with the excursion booked by our travel agent and the doorman went above and beyond to help us. We were delighted with the outcome. All of the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The tuk tuk drivers linked to the hotel tended to be pricey but it was very easy to step to the main road and flag down a passing driver. The hotel was very conveniently located for the town centre (only $1-$2 tuk tuk), Angkor Wat, the excellent Angkor National Museum and there is a quality, air conditioned, supermarket 5 to 10 minutes walk toward town. We highly recommend the Tara Angkor Hotel.
