Crofton House Hotel

The room was massive because we had an upgrade,bathroom was massive bath and a shower,comfy bed ,great views and Hassan was very helpful and friendly.

Heating was on during the night,it must have been left on a timer and it was absolutely boiling , and the front of house looks messy with rubbish all down the left hand side .

The staff member on reception was lovely. Very friendly. He allowed us to park our car in the free car park from 12pm even though check in was not until 3pm. We were lucky to get there early enough for a space as it was very small.

The hotel was not at all as was advertised or as it looked on the photographs. It was run down and in need of a lot of updating. On first impressions we were disappointed as the car park had big overflowing bins with rubbish everywhere and the outside of the hotel looked very run down. Our room was tiny and run down but clean at least, other than the false eyelash found in the radiator and the plaster mark found on the pillow. We booked this hotel mainly for the pool and jacuzi facilities. Outdoor pool was closed, dirty and full of rubbish. Outside area was dirty and outdoor hot tub not available. The sun terrace would have been a lovely place to sit had it not been for the overflowing ashtrays and rubbish piled up in the corner. The indoor pool was heated but jacuzi didnt produce bubbles, all cracked tiles in the pool and the roof was full of rust, needed updating and wasn't very welcoming, so we did not bother. Website advertised that breakfast was available for an extra charge. This was not available. The 'bar area' had fridge full of pot noodles instead. Would not recommend this hotel at all. Feel it was very falsely advertised, even as a 3 star, it is not somewhere would ever stay again. We were extremely disappointed.

Reception guy very helpful, cheap and cheerful. Booked a single room for the night, location close to town, up the hill though so be aware if walking is a struggle. Facilities good pool, sauna and steam all included which was great.

Location good. Staff very nice

On arrival the front of the hotel needs a good clean. Needs updating . When leaving car park paint scrapping had fallen from walls of hotel over front of car so not good to come out to see that.

The receptionist was exceptional, really went out of his way to accommodate early check in and that we had everything we needed. Rooms were spotless.

It felt a bit dated but was great value for money.
