Mountain Lake Lodge

If you love the movie Dirty Dancing, you'll love this place. Freedom to explore. Lots of places unchanged since the movie was filmed. 3 different restaurants to dine at. 2 gift shops. Pools. Gator tours. Roam the halls and take in the history of this beautiful place.

Everything was amazing. Great service and friendly faces. We love Gable, Brooke, and Mica.

If you are a fan of the movie, you have to go here! So many movie locations. We stayed in the Chestnut Lodge which was spacious and nicely decorated. We had dinner at the Tavern, which was fine but with very stressed “servers”/bartenders who dropped many f-bombs while they seemed quite overwhelmed. Service there not great so maybe the other dining option would be better. Other than that, absolutely loved it here. Total bucket list hotel.

We're big Dirty Dancing fans and it was fun staying and touring the sites at the place it was filmed. Was disappointed that the lake is dried up due to a century cycle it goes through. However, it was still a beautiful location. Very clean resort and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

We booked a cabin a year in advance for graduation. Cabin was clean and spacious, perfect for two couples. Staff and service were excellent. Loved the beautiful scenery. Thanks for a wonderful experience. We highly recommend Mountain Lake Lodge!

If you are totally unabashedly a Dirty Dancing fan, you might be impressed. Beware that this is a very rustic lodge with limited service. No housekeeping during our stay. Clean towels must be picked up at front desk, which can be a walk. We had 6 rooms in the Chestnut Lodge. It rained and the first floor rooms are subject to standing water & mud at your door hence the floor & rugs in the room are filthy. The rooms are in bad shape & need refurbishment. Towels are dingy & always damp. The bath was clean when we arrived. You only get two logs for fireplace & then charged $10 for any additional. The food was very good & staff was pleasant. If you are prepared for a very campy experience which we were, it still falls short…. Why no housekeeping, why up charges on wood, why not fix broken doors & shutters, why no drainage at doors, if you stay away from Chestnut Lodge, you may have a different experience but we felt a little ripped off. One & done for this large family.

A must see and stay for fans and those who have never seen the movie Dirty Dancing. Beautiful property and lodge. Cabins are cozy, could use a little maintenance but very comfortable and clean. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food was good. Wouldn’t rate it 5 star but there were a variety of options, something for everyone. Overall a great couple day getaway.

When they say rustic, please understand this involves a hike uphill to your room from the bottom parking lot, no elevators, and no TV in the rooms. We were told AT CHECK OUT the main lodge is the largest on property but the only one with no TVs. All this would have been ok if advertised as such. I could have reserved something more accommodating. Just don’t see the appeal. Room was just ok, best thing was the decor in the bathroom was cute. The drive up there is nice, was the best part to us.

Went to Blacksburg for the Metallica show. Beautiful grounds and scenery, clean cabins, comfortable beds, very friendly staff. Kellerman's gift shop was a bonus! Careful on the drive up the mountains, you are truly in the mountains, the winding roads are not for the faint of heart but the views are breathtaking! The grounds have walking trails
