"Essence of Ubud"

10.0

Ubud Village Resort and Spa provided me with the peace that we needed from a fast urban city life. It kept the simplicity of Ubud but yet added hyperlocal experiences that were genuine and authentic. The food was absolutely fantastic. Breakfast was themed according to local rituals and there were many choices for the a la carte breakfast. When we were weary of the traffic outside, we stayed in 2 nights for dinner, once for room service and once at the restaurant. Quality and service were impeccable. Even the moringa fusion tea I had after the spa experience was exceptional - if only I could ask for the recipe. The view from its spa, seeing a rustic rice padi field brought life to a halt, just staring at the farmers working with the equipment and cows gave a high sense of grounded peace. The spa was wonderfully done and was truly calm and relaxing without over the top luxury. We also enjoyed the pool and playing occasional table tennis at the club. I am also appreciative that most of the employees were Ubud natives. This not only brought an authentic experience but also ensured that the local economy was uplifted.

"60th Birthday"

10.0

Just back from 5 nights at the hotel, couldn’t have been better. The pool villas was very special, and added to a great holiday. Staff are exceptional and all so friendly and always willing to help. Food was lovely and a good choice, the afternoon tea was a nice extra. The spa treatment was excellent and reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning in the future for many years to come. Thank you Ubud Hotel Resort & Spa

"Peaceful Retreat in Ubud – Surrounded by Nature"

8.0

We had been in Ubud before and were looking for a hotel that was a bit away from Ubud center with a more quiet vibe, and we found it. Note that Ubud Village has two hotels: one is close to Monkey Forest, and this one is Ubud Village Resort & Spa. This place has an amazing larger main infinity pool which is really the star of this place and is surrounded by rice fields, plants, and flowers—simply a beautiful place. Villa & Atmosphere: We had 6 nights in a Garden Villa with private pool. The villa, garden, and pool were lovely, and there were fishponds surrounding part of the villa. We appreciated that the bed already had a mosquito net around it. We liked that it’s a smaller hotel, it was nice and quiet and we could relax. We decided to have the hotel do our laundry, since their pricing was very reasonable compared to normal hotel prices. Library: We liked the library situated next to the main pool where we could pick up new paperbacks and leave the ones we already read. Dining: We had breakfast and liked the daily menu change for different choices. We had dinner a few times but mostly had our lunch and dinner downtown Ubud. We found the lunch and dinner options were limited. The restaurant staff is really helpful, but they could use some training. A couple of times we had to ask the staff—after a 25-minute wait—if the food was coming, and then they told us either the kitchen printer suddenly didn’t work or there was a mistake in our order. It would have been nice if they could have been proactive. What was odd is that we had to ask for a napkin every single time—it was never provided on the table. The staff seems young and could use some guidance on how to be proactive, e.g., asking the guest if they want more to drink or a dessert. Walking from our villa to the restaurant along the garden paths was dimly lit, and it would be great if there were a bit more lighting. We ended up using our mobile phones to make sure we didn’t accidentally step on any frogs along the way. Spa: The spa is quite large with multiple rooms, and we had massages three times. Wow—Ms. Pande really had the massage technique down and could easily shift between deep tissue hard pressure massage (where it felt as if I was a piece of pizza dough she rolled completely flat) and another time I had a relaxing Balinese massage with soft pressure. She was amazing. Cooking Class: We loved how Chef Mrs. Lastari showed us how to make Indonesian food and how to create the fundamental ingredients for any Indonesian dish. We did the cooking in their own vegetable garden, and made Balinese spice paste, fish soup, nasi goreng, and pisang goreng. It was wonderful. Take the class. Staff: The staff is really helpful—you just have to ask, and they will come and fix it straight away, which is very impressive. Ubud Center: There is a free shuttle going from the hotel to the sister hotel Ubud Village, but due to the heavy traffic on weekdays during the afternoon and evening, the shuttle will be stuck. We decided to walk, and it takes approx. 20 minutes—even on poor sidewalks—to reach the first shops, cafés, and restaurants. Wear sneakers and not slippers if you decide to walk, and remember to pay attention to where you walk.

"Peace and beauty in Ubud"

10.0

We stayed here 10 years ago and this resort remains the peaceful paradise it was back then. You can hardly tell crazy Ubud traffic and noise is just outside the front drive. Once inside the resort you are transported to a huge green tranquil oasis. No idea how many guests because privacy and space is prioritised. Lots of staff and very attentive. Food at the resort is amazing and don’t miss the afternoon tea! The spa staff are also wonderful and the treatments divine. I chose this resort because it is Balinese owned and run. And according to their information the resort is built to replicate a traditional Balinese village.

"Stunning Villas and Exceptional Care in Ubud"

10.0

We spent a few days at The Ubud Village Resort & Spa for our honeymoon, and it was such a memorable experience. The property is absolutely stunning; lush grounds, beautiful villas, and such a peaceful vibe. Honestly, it gave off White Lotus Season 3 energy in the best way possible. So beautiful, calm, and a little surreal. When we first arrived, we did have a couple of hiccups with our room and I was initially a bit frustrated with the limited menu (I have some food restrictions, which can make dining tricky). But what really impressed me was how quickly and thoughtfully the staff responded. The manager, Piki, reached out to us right away, fixed the issue with our villa that same evening, and the next day insisted on upgrading us to an even more incredible suite with extra outdoor space and a second bathroom. Both rooms were gorgeous, but the upgraded villa really made the stay extra special. On top of that, knowing about my food restrictions, the chef and team went above and beyond to create a custom menu just for me. I never asked for this, they simply insisted on making sure I had a wonderful experience. The dishes were outstanding, some of the best food I had in Bali, and honestly, I hope they add them to the regular menu because they were that good. Every single staff member we interacted with was so kind and genuine. Piki was absolutely wonderful; generous, attentive, and so determined to make sure our honeymoon felt special. And BooBoo (I hope I’m spelling that right!) was one of the nicest people we met during our stay. He served us several times and always went above and beyond , even making sure we had certain breakfast items we loved, even though the options changed daily. All in all, this resort is not just beautiful, it’s run by people who truly care. Our honeymoon ended up being everything we hoped for and more because of their kindness and effort. We left feeling so grateful and would absolutely love to return. Thank you for helping us create such a beautiful memory!

"Where luxury meets tranquility"

10.0

The Ubud Village resort & spa is a beautiful hotel and all the staff is very friendly and simply amazing. The villas are very spacious, comfortable and aperfectly cleaned on a daily basis. The hotel is close to the city but once inside you can barely hear all the noise. The food is very delecious as well, but most of all, it's the staff that makes the difference- always friendly with a beautiful smile, trying their hardest to make you feel amazing.

"Beautiful oasis for exploring the surrounding area."

10.0

Villas are very spacious and beautiful. Lovely outdoor space with own pool. We did go to the main pool a couple of days and there was no problem getting sun loungers, it was never crowded and the bar service was excellent. We had a full body massage which again was excellent during happy hour which was 10 till 3. Would not hesitate to return and would recommend to all my friends. Only one negative was the breakfast service. Some mornings had to ask them to take the order otherwise you were sat for quite a while waiting. Food quality was good. We also ate in the restaurant twice at night and the food was again excellent and reasonably priced!
