Park Hyatt Beijing

Although no longer a new hotel, the design is timeless and the hardware is maintained to a high standard. The rooms have a warm, residential ambience (the wooden window shutters are a particularly homely touch) and are ideal both for working (with a large desk and comfortable chair) and relaxing. The square bathtub is enormous and the shower has very strong water pressure. Housekeeping (who have excellent attention to detail) and room service staff in particular are genuine and friendly. The Chinese selection on the room service menu is slightly more limited than I remember from previous visits, but food quality remains outstanding.

Amazing location and great view from our rooms.

I was traveling with my husband and my in-laws and they are white Americans. When we were checking in, I was the one doing all the taking because I was the only one who speaks Chinese. The front desk staff was not the nicest to me at first, then when he realized I’m the also one of the guests, his attitude all the sudden changed. He was much nicer and politer, like how front desk staff should treat the hotel guests. It was almost like he assumed that I was my family local tour guide and not one of the guests, therefore he did not need to be respectful. I found it incredibly insulting because my home country is the last place I’d think I would have a racist experience. We were all shocked, because we can’t believe that’s how a Hyatt treats their guests, or their guest’s guests.

Great location and beautiful hotel. It was first visit to Beijing and don't think we would stay anywhere else. Huge plus to be at subway station and above a shopping center with additional dining options.

Great location with stunning views from the rooms, restaurants and even the washrooms. Close to the China World Mall which is accessible directly via underground passages. The reception is in the 63rd floor, the bar and breakfast area even higher. Everything is in top notch condition and very luxurious.

Great location in Beijing! The hotel is great with large room and excellent view. I really enjoy the huge restroom and bath. Hotel has a large and clean swimming pool Breakfast is also wonderful and the Beijing yogurt is highly recommended.

Cons: 1. The welcome fruit was not delivered on the first day. After I contacted the front desk, it was not delivered until around 10:00 PM, and only three dates were provided. 2. The lobby was extremely crowded with people who were not staying at the hotel and were there mainly to take photos. This seriously affected the experience for hotel guests. 3. Housekeeping was handled very carelessly. There was a lot of hair left on the bed. The tissue box was used up one day and was still not replenished by the next evening, requiring me to call the front desk myself. There were also visible water stains and marks left on the desk from the previous guest. 4. The turndown service was extremely perfunctory. The staff only emptied one trash bin and did not collect the used towels after showering, did not draw the curtains, and did not turn down or arrange the duvet or bed at all. Other minor include the inconvenience of having to transfer between three different elevators within the hotel. Pros: The breakfast was good, the view was nice, and the concierge staff was helpful with luggage. Overall, the experience was significantly worse than other hotels at a similar price level.
