Hotel Downtown

The location was perfect for my needs, but otherwise there are more central hotels. It was a bit run down as I expected and the facilities were rather poor and not very modern. The room was large, the bathroom not so much. Smooth check-in and check-out. Somewhat limited breakfast and we had to wait for it to be filled up even though there were not so many guests.

On the plus side very good service from friendly staff, great location, comfortable spacious room with a bathtub in the bathroom (some also have a terrace),and parking space. On the lower side the parking is rather small so you might not get space, best to reserve in advance.

the hotel is billed as centrally located and it is, however the instructions we got at the airport to get there took us on the far side. Take the direction of the National Cultural Palace and you are literally 5 minute walk from the hotel. The rooms are well equipped, clean and spacious. The hotel is on the small side and looks better inside than on the outside. the staff are friendly. It would be great if the hotel had information on the available massage on their website so one could book in advance as it is not located in side of the hotel, they do come in. Breakfast is quite solid with ample choices. Beware of taxis in Sofia and in general in Bulgaria, they are not expensive but make sure you tell the driver ahead of time that you expect a receipt and make sure you have CHANGE...also have google map open on your phone otherwise they will drive you in circles.

My husband and I spent a week at the Hotel Downtown and really enjoyed our stay. Our Deluxe Double Room had lots of space with a nice lounge area, study area and big bathroom. Lots of storage. The shower over the bath worked well and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet with lots of options including bacon and eggs. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The location was great and I walked or caught the nearby bus/metro. We would stay here again !

Recommended good Hotel to stay,Close to National Culture Building to Bulevard Vitoshka and walking distance to center Nice clean and friendly supportive staff.also have a Good breakfast.Recommend,will stay again .

Nice hotel, good location.Room is all you need for business trip. King size bed, huge wardrobe, realy big body towel in the bath. Staff is very friendly, breakfast is rich and varied, including healthy food-nuts, seeds анд fruits. Paid parking for hotel guests.

Hotel was very clean and quiet. The breakfast was large and hearty. The hotel personnel went out of their way for me. I ate at local restaurants both nights and the food was superb and cheap. All the central sites of Sofia were within walking distance of the hotel. It's a 5-minute walk to a Metro station that connects to the airport or to the central train station. Definitely give this hotel a chance when you visit Sofia.

The Downtown Hotel offers a kind of post-communist charme in it‘s lobby, bar, restaurant and rooms. The furniture in the rooms isn‘t anything but new, but still in good shape and the rooms as well as all the others parts of the hotel are kept very clean. The bathroom was rather large, but it was (even very early in the morning) not possible to have a constant water temperature when showering. If you really like to drink a cup of coffee in the morning, don‘t do it in the restaurant of the Downtown Hotel. They just offer instant coffee. Wifi is free, but the speed of the network is sometimes very slow.
