The Chatsworth Hotel

This hotel is nicely located central on the sea front close to the pier. 10 minutes walk from the station, with easy parking using discounted tickets from the hotel. The hotel has been renovated and has a lift from the early 1900’s as a feature. The staff are welcoming and helpful. Rooms on the 4th floor have been nicely decorated and appointed. We had a lovely sea view via a sash window, comfortable large double bed, sofa and tea and a coffee machine. However, the updated bathrooms although modern are let down by a lack of maintenance and deep cleaning. Traces of what looks like mold on the bath silicon, the shower heads not cleaned, low water pressure and stained tile floor just around toilet. The lounges and bar areas are very nice, with a piano bar and small patio area, and staff are attentive. Pricing is on the high side compared to the many local pubs and bars nearby. Buffet breakfast in the restaurant is £20 each, but £10 if a full English is taken by using room service. The hotel does offer dinner which we did not take. We used the many restaurants and cafes close by. It was hot weather when we stayed and there’s no air conditioning in the room. We asked for a fan, and a very small fan heater was supplied and not used. Overall a very nice hotel but let down by little things that could be easily rectified. I would return but looking for a better price.

Easy check in, room very small for the money, sea view but through a small window! No air conditioning and room very stuffy. Grout in bathroom either missing or dirty! Dirty carpets in corridors! Breakfast very disappointing for £20 dirty and torn net curtains and dirty table cloths in breakfast room. The ‘red book (everything about the hotel and what’s on in Eastbourne) hasn’t been updated since 2025! So don’t trust bar prices or entertainment in hotel as it changes to suit occupancy. Definitely not 5* hotel but prices don’t reflect this! Would we stay again? Definitely not.

Our room was facing the sea with an amazing views. The room was great with huge windows. The staff were very helpful. The hotel was very clean and looked after. Breakfast was also very good with a wide choice.

Nice big room, comfortable bed, partial sea view, attentive staff, historic building.

Shower water power was weak, cleanliness was OK but not top notch.

The view was lovely, the bathroom was large and the bed was comfy.

The TV was covered in dust, there were many places on the walls where paint was flecking off and breakfast was served far too late.
