"Over all great "

8.0

Inn keeper was very kind and accommodating. Room was clean and the decor was fantastic. Comfortable bed. Wished we had more towels but made do. The breakfast was a great variety and tasty. Good coffee. Only complaint was terrible water pressure in the shower and the parking lot was a distance to walk in the dark.

"Castle life!"

8.0

Such a unique place to stay! Worth exploring the castle rooms (library, living room, dining room, etc.) and the grounds of the botanical gardens. Some rooms have a shared bathroom (like a dorm) so just confirm what type of room you're getting. Our room was a bit cold at night, but the Innkeeper gave us a room heater and an extra blanket. The front door is locked, so if you go out at night (dinner, etc.) you have to call the Innkeeper to let you in - not ideal but we were ok with it. Basic continental breakfast included.

"Do it right"

6.0

The building itself is awesome. Staff was very nice. The interior Is in need of a professional restoration. .As things break down they are patched up in a very unprofessional way. They use the lowest grade Home Depot quality locks, lights And fixtures throughout. The room decorations and furnishings are Laughable. I am not 100% but pretty sure there were bedbugs because my wife and I both woke up with a few small red itchy spots or a bodies. Place could be something special but it’s not being done right.

The place is an amazing preserved historical architecturally important site to see. Richard was in particular very helpful in making my son and I welcomed and comfortable, way beyond any expectations. I would surely come again and spread the good word about this gem of a location. I don't know if it would be possible, but I left a metal aluminum green container in which I mixed some medicine. I left it inside the breakfast area. If it's not too much trouble, please empty the medicine out and mail it to me. It was a birthday present. I will pay for the postage. If that's not possible, don't worry about it. My address: Campbell Dalglish, 127 South Dunton Avenue, East Patchogue, NY 11772 Cell: 631-793-8881

"It’s a castle!!!"

8.0

The castle is so lovely... the craftsmanship was incredible. It’s an historic place and the aging of the facility adds to the charm so don’t forget expect it to be in “brand new perfect condition”. Brian was a very attentive innkeeper and added to our stay. We stayed in the Knights suite and my only complaint was that it was very drafty in there with 3 walls. It was a cold winter night. Some insulated drapes would have been helpful. Nonetheless, we really had a enjoyable time.

The location and grounds were awesome. Brian the innkeeper was super accommodating. The issues we had were NO WiFi. Anywhere let alone room. Also heat was off had to have space heater in room. Warmed up by the morning. Breakfast uninspired. Best part was location as we hiked in area. Bit pricey for essentially a cold bed and cold breakfast
