The property is not that clean

This hotel is reasonably priced, adjacent to the Fortune mall and a subway station with a 7-11 over the road. It couldn't be better situated. The rooms are big enough, the staff excellent and the breakfast good with a good range of both Chinese and European dishes.

Everything was good during this stay.

Spacious rooms, great location and efficient service from both front office and housekeeping. Hotel is clean and also rooms are clean. Reservations was quick to respond and Hevens was very helpful. Hotel rooms need to renovate or refresh in order to keep up with time.

Beautiful hotel in the financial district of Beijing. We had a large room a super comfortable bed and a huge bathroom with a big window and a view. There was a supermarket on the lower ground floor in the Fortune Plaza connected from the hotel on the 2nd floor near the lifts. We bought cheese ham bread tomatoes for a meal all lovely and fresh. Also beer and ice cream. Central Park is a 5 minute walk and the Jintaixizhao Subway only 50 mtrs from the hotel, use Exit A when returning back to hotel. We walked to local restaurants for meals. The breakfast in the hotel served lots of choices and plenty of western items we were impressed but it gets very busy. The swimming pool on the 2nd floor but you do need to bring a swimming cap, also there is a large hot tub which was great, it's an enormous pool area. The gym is on the 3rd floor. We were able to make tea and coffee in our room and they supplied water daily, toothbrush comb and shaver plus robes and slippers and everything was so clean we had a great stay before our cruise.

I reviewed this hotel last year, when I found the service lacking. I can’t say that the hotel experience was any better. I regret to report that it was worse. I booked an airport meet-and-greet and car service for CNY690, which was great and highly recommended for first-time visitors to Beijing. In retrospect, I should have just managed in my own. The welcome, however, was great, if pricey, considering that a ride-hail car to the hotel would be less than CNY100. It was at the hotel that the service fell apart - Well, there wasn’t really any service at all. The car drove up to the entrance and there was no doorman, no one to help with luggage, nothing. I got all the way to just before the front desk without encountering any service staff. It was only once I got near reception that the one concierge approached. It seemed to me that over the three nights I spent at the hotel, there were hardly any bell staff or concierge staff on duty. There was usually a security person by the lifts but otherwise, the lobby was often completely unmanned. The front desk, too, was lacking for staff, as well as the restaurant. It seems that the entire hotel had fewer staff on duty at any time than on my previous visits. This was pretty sad and suggested that business must be pretty bad. The food through room service and at breakfast was serviceable, not particularly good. Perhaps the best dish I had was the Hainan Chicken Rice, but considering the Grand Millennium is a Singapore brand, the dish was not all that authentic or up to the standard one would expect. The room itself was rather tired, with certain things not working or broken (eg the drain and shower/faucet switch at the tub, and the room service QR code ordering system). And despite having the “do not disturb” light on, the housekeeping staff disturbed me twice. The hotel is reasonable value for Beijing but getting less so with each visit - especially as their staff roster seems to be shrinking!

I would like to express special gratitude to Ana, she checked me in perfectly, told me everything in detail and helped me with all the questions that arose! The hotel staff is very important to me, because it has a significant impact on my vacation :) The hotel is wonderful! Convenient location and excellent tasty breakfasts!! The pool is very large and comfortable!!
