Chariot Beach Resort

Best resort in ECR Mahabalipuram - Chariot Beach resort. We rate worst, because the moment we roam around the property , we realised this is a 3rd grade resort. If you are paying anything >3k per night, you are going to regret for your choice. Few specifics: Swimming pool: I have not seen such a pathetic maintenance of a pool. Most of the tiles have broken, lots of sands under the water NOT AT ALL safe for kids as well as adults. The cleaner said they clean once a week. Every other day there seems to be some accident to clients. I heard they say we are going to repair the pool in 2months every time someone complains. Food: Food in this Kapi restaurant is too costly e.g. a sandwich costs Rs.75 outside and they charge Rs.500. In the name of complimentary breakfast, they serve you very generic spread. You find cheaper and tasty food nearby places e.g. A2B, Mamalla Resort , Madras chronicles etc. Rooms: Nothing great to experience. Stinky bathrooms. Few food items are kept in the rooms, but are high-priced. E g. Rs. 20 Bingo are charged at Rs.105. I heard guest were not properly informed and while check out, they were shocked to see the charges. Resort looks awesome in online photo. Anytime you call, you find rooms are available because many had bad experience and people don't prefer this resort. Please be wise in better place choos to make your holiday memorable.

One of the very disappointed hotel Experience I have had so far, pricing was too high with quality so poor, Swimming pool was damaged and still the allowed everyone inside it including kids, flooring in the pool was so damaged, . food was less than enjoyable along with GST @18% when we had asked the restaurant incharge he was arguing saying it was 18% and no 5% even thou I had told him will raise this issue he said to goahead . Overall very bad experience staying at this place!!

Visited Chariot Beach Resort on Saturday, 13th September 2025, with my school friends. We had a wonderful time enjoying both the fun activities and the delicious food. I would highly recommend this place for family outings or get-togethers with friends. A big thank you to Anita, the F&B Manager, and her team for their fantastic service – truly appreciated!

Trip organiser Anitha Saini arranged our lunch and lawn stay with great hospitality and dedication provided excellent ambience and her team supported in a friendly manner with right from pick up and back with a special gesture of birthday cake for one of our friend. Food was good and neat ambience in the dinning hall seeing with smiling face and cheers. 5 star rating given. We will visit with our family members again. Excellent Property. Helpful staff.Nice facilities. Games room need a fresh plastering in some areas. Food is average. Improving quality of food and cutlery can boost the experience.

We booked two poolside cottages well in advance, but on arrival were shoved into completely different rooms far from the pool. After repeated questioning, staff admitted they had given our cottages to a big group. They even promised “compensation” just to get rid of us, which never happened. To make it worse, they had already taken full payment for the poolside cottages — yet we never got what we booked. That’s nothing short of a scam. The facilities were equally disappointing: the pool had broken sharp tiles and algae, and room service was a joke — 40 minutes late and wrong order. Don’t be fooled by the pictures they upload — the reality is very different. This place runs on excuses, not hospitality. Unsafe, dishonest, and careless. Strongly recommend avoiding it.

Booked a Poolside Cottage but was given a different room. When I complained, staff just said “sorry, we can’t help or compensate.” Totally unprofessional, false commitments, and ruined our stay. Avoid this resort!
