The food and breakfast buffet equaled the idea of a grand hotel. The bar staff upstairs was knowledgeable, very efficient, and friendly. The nightly music and entertainment were amazing. The spa staff was incredible, and the facility was impressive except for some very noticeable defects. As a grand hotel in the style of the old Canadian Pacific Railway hotels, like its compatriots, the Algonquin and Banff Springs, it does not feel like it is keeping up this level of service and care.

Cleanliness, I spent three days there, and the stairs from the main floor down and up were never cleaned or vacuumed. A lot of lights were not working in the men's bathroom in the spa as as well as the second steam shower, and the elevator was out of service. This is an unacceptable issue that should have been a priority repair. As a grand hotel this issue limited the use of the hotel for anyone with a disability, unacceptable. The stairs are old school and almost unusable for anyone with mobility issues. I don't have that issue, but watched many elderly patrons having great difficulty managing the older stairs design. One of the most disappointing things I saw was right in front of my parking space in front of the hotel; maintenance had used planks of wood at the bottoms of windows as a way to cover areas where the stucco had fallen off. There were many other issues paint, sealant, stains in the hallways, and more.

Breakfast was great and delicious. The entire place needs some upgrades.

It’s a well kept, beautifully manicured property. Cottages need some updating for $500/night but overall fine.

L’hôtel a vu de meilleurs jours. Les chambres auraient besoin d’un petit rafraîchissement. Notre chambre était située au troisième étage et adjacente à l’ascenseur qui était bruyant.

Found the room noisy; I was staying in a room on my own, and was given a room directly across from the elevator.

Would have preferred a different room location where I was travelling on my own, but I should have asked for a change. We checked in early, and did appreciate that they were able to accomodate us.
