Holiday Inn Accra Airport, an IHG Hotel

Property does not meet the standards of a Holiday Inn worldwide!! Its old, out dated and in bad shape.

Amazing

The Holiday Inn Accra Airport has a great lobby, pool, restaurant, bar, and gym. The moment you go upstairs the standard takes a quick step down a notch or two. Now, they did have signs up that they were in the midst of a renovation on the 7th floor, so a better room experience may be coming. The room I was in overlooked the pool, had the feeling of being 10+ years old, and the AC wasn't up to the job of keeping the humidity and smells knocked down. On this same trip I stayed in the Tiama in Abidjan, and the Empire Palace in Lagos. Both were about the same price and a clear step up on a room level. The Holiday Inn was as good as the other properties in the lobby and public spaces category... maybe a little better even. On Friday nights they have a bash by the pool that goes to 11pm, so if you like a little more peace and quite, ask for a room which does not over look the pool. Even numbers should do. I was in room 123, which was right over the pool. 122 was across the hall and should not have been exposed to the pool party noise. I should note that the restaurant was quite good, and cleary good enough that it drawn three local groups out for birthday dinners at the hotel.

Hotel needs update and faster service with food orders, drinks, and billing.

The hotel needs work, rooms are very tired, the AC doesn't get below about 20 deg and so you are left on top of the bed trying to get to sleep. There are other newer hotels close by that might be worth considering instead.

The staff was great. Hall ways leading to rooms are a bit stale and muggy.

Room and bathroom clean. Bathroom needs updating.

Well maintained modern hotel, convenient to the airport. Our somewhat slower service, as is common in Ghana.

After being taken to our standard twin room we were very disappointed. The room had a terrible odour. We requested a new upgraded executive room and it was much better and did not stink. We were assisted by "Gifty and Sarah" at the hotel who were both wonderful and accommodating. They made our stay enjoyable and allowed us to get a late check out which we really appreciated. We will definitely stay at this hotel again in the future.

I have used this hotel for two years and counting. It is sad to see the gradual decline in standards
