The property is, in my opinion, the only place to consider in this area. Very convenient to the attractions.

Hotel Guachipelin is an incredible place. The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful and so well taken care of. The views from the hotel were amazing. We enjoyed hiking the grounds to see the waterfall that is on the property. We also enjoyed our guided hike of Las Pailas which we booked through the hotel. The staff was so professional, organized, and kind. We wished we had spent more time here.

We strongly recommend this property for families looking to experience a bit of forest resort life in Costa Rica. Regarding the hotel itself, the bathroom was excellent - strong water pressure and high-quality toiletries. The staff were very responsive; they immediately fixed the wifi after we let them know it wasn't working and delivered blankets after reception hours. Breakfast was outstanding with a buffet of hot, cold, sweet, and savory options (there was also an omelette bar). There was a fridge but no microwave (we booked a superior room). This resort shines in its waterfalls and thermal springs. The trails to the waterfalls were impeccably maintained with attendants on hand to keep an eye on cars, take family pictures, and monitor belongings if you would like to take a dip. The thermal pools (10 pools, volcanic mud, 2 cold showers) were outstanding; there are towels and lockers available at the trailhead and attendants watching over your belongings at the actual pools. The locker rooms to change into swimsuits were well-maintained and appointed. You can book all kinds of activities at reception, but we found the included ones to be sufficient.

We absolutely loved our stay here and wish we had added at least one more night. The activities available on the property are wonderful and it is the best breakfast we had while in Costa Rica.

Beautiful property surrounded by nature. Staff was friendly. It’s a very quiet area and you have walking access to easy trails and just a short drive to other spots like the national park (fee required). The Oropendola waterfall was free to access with your hotel stay - highly recommend, short drive. The hot springs is also included in your stay which is a must. We took the latest free shuttle bus over (5:30PM) because we didn’t want to drive in the dark and it was perfect - there was nobody there. Free breakfast was wonderful, enjoyed the food and fresh fruits. They have three restaurants onsite which was good but pricey. There’s nothing else in the area for dining options and the resort is quite secluded so I guess that’s a factor. The rooms were clean, nothing fancy, felt like I was staying in an older cottage. We saw a lot of different species of birds and monkeys in the national park, it was incredible. I would recommend this property if you want to check out the national park and want easy access

Beautiful property in a great area. I love birding in the area. The hot springs are also really nice and the Simbiosis Spa is fantastic. Keep in mind you have to drive to get from the rooms to the hot springs and a lot of the trails, so it’s nice to have a rental car. You can get up there from LIR in a 2wd vehicle, but the pace is slow. All roads in Costa Rica need improvement, that’s just the way it is. Our only complaint this time was the very long wait for our food at dinner one night. Something was off. Others got their food first even though they arrived a good half hour after we did. So it goes, not a major deal. The food is very good
