"It's not Chaweng, or Lamai beach."

6.0

Pretty scenery, but a small beach is quite a walk away, and there's nothing else around the hotel. You have to take a 300 baht ($9) or 400 baht ($12) taxi every time you leave the hotel, and every time you come back. They do have a free shuttle that runs twice a day, but one way only. The price was good though, and if you fine with being hold up in one place it could work for you.

"Beautiful hotel, great views, great island!"

10.0

We only stayed 2 nights at this beautiful hotel and it sure wasn't enough! The room was spectacular, the staff were friendly and helpful, the views were amazing. Unfortunately it rained the days we stayed but that didn't change anything, would highly recommend and we know we're coming back!

"Nice hotel on small cliff facing the sea."

8.0

Good hotel. Service was decent. Staff attempted to be helpful but probably needed more training. Had nice Sea side view hotel room. It was of good size, with nice small balcony and high ceilings. Overall better than expected. Breakfast had both Asian and European choices of good quality. I would warn as the hotel is on a small cliff , it does not have a beach adjoining its premises ( it was not an issue for us as I was aware before hand) . But there is a beach about 300 - 500 meters away.

"Very nice hotel in excellent area"

8.0

Lovely hotel in great location, the rooms all look over the water and there is easy access to the beach. Room was very nice, clean and quite comfortable. There is a great little spot for dinner a short walk down to the beach at Coral Cove which has excellent food at great prices. I would highly recommend this hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful especially Mr Chow.

"Great Stay"

8.0

We booked this hotel last minute due to travel changes.. the one night stay was great. The room was clean and had wonderful views, the staff was welcoming and accommodating, and the restaurant food is good. The day we were there it was extremely quiet and not much going on, so depends what you are looking for in a hotel. The location is decent and near some good beaches. The spa was amazing.

"Nice hotel within walking distance to the beach "

8.0

We enjoyed our stay at the Kala. Try to get breakfast included in your stay as otherwise it is quite expensive. The free shuttle to town each day was really handy. A good, quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of Lamai and Chaweng but an easy scooter ride to access these areas.

"Great island for food, beaches & relaxing."

8.0

Staff were pleasant. Place clean. Breakfast was average. Next door was better for breakfast and access to beach. Internet was patchy sometimes. Make sure you don't get the end room facing the Foyer. It lacks privacy and is noisy. Location is a bit far to walk anywhere ie shops and other sites. You have to find transport. Tuk is best and make sure you bargain!!
