"Lovely hotel"

8.0

This beautiful hotel was situated between chaweng and lamai.... The hotel was serene peaceful and quiet but it was very easy to get to more bustling parts of ko Samui... There was great reggae/hip hop bar and grocery shop about 5 mins up the road... One of the best restauraunts on the island "romantic bamboo" (check trip advisor) was about a 20 minute walk away... The kala's staff were amazing, Polite, considerate, friendly. The hotel was clean and well maintained. Food in the hotel's restauraunt is over priced would be my only criticism. However other restaurants are easy enough to get too!!

"The best stay I had in Thailand"

10.0

The most wonderful staff work in this hotel. Always smiling and helping as much as they can. They spoke very good english and the food they served were delicious. You can go canoeing for free down the rocks, the beach next door is accessible with free snorkling gear and life jackets as well. The place is isolated from the parties which is exactly what I wanted. Relaxation and great natural surroundings. I asked for my laundry to be done the next day before my flight early in the morning and they made a few calls and had the job done! They will go above and beyond. Thank you Kala Hotel!

"Honeymoon from heaven"

10.0

We stayed ten nights for our honeymoon. Villa 104 was amazing. We had direct oceans views which were unbelievable and our own private pool which was great for relaxing in while taking in the view. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond our expectations including some help with a difficult taxi driver. They were very warm and sincere with their assistance. Nothing was to much trouble. Breakfast can get a bit monotonous after a while so we worked out the best strategy was to order parts of different options - cheese omelette with greens from morning glory. Short walk to an amazing restaurant that serves healthy meals with a great view. Would highly recommend The Kala for those wishing to switch off and relax. Special thanks to Yod.

"A tremendous stay "

10.0

I don't think I realized how lux the Kala was when I booked. What a beautiful hotel!! I loved the architecture and landscaping. The entire resort felt tucked away and natural. The food was outstanding and all the dishes and cutlery were so nice as well. They had thoroughly thought through every aspect of the rooms from the all natural coconut lotion to the circular shower to the shuddered bathroom to the artful trunks for clothes. I will definitely book in for more time here next time I'm in Ko samui.

"Horrible worst choice of our Thailand trip"

2.0

Booked Kala was the worst choice of my whole trip. Dirty and old facility, rude and poor service of staffs. Horrible food, we have no interest even go to the included breakfast. Be careful, it's not buffet breakfast. It takes the server forever to take orders, bring food. They have the worst cook in Thailand. The kala doesn't provide transportation. We have to hire and pay transportation every time going out. we felt stucked in this horrible place for 4 days and couldn't stand this anymore. We decided to move to another resort on our last day. We are paying the same price, with delicious buffet breakfast. And the new resort has free transportation on multiple schedule. I wished I had never visit the Kala. I don't know how and who gave the good reviews in their account

"Overall a great, quite place for retreat."

8.0

Enjoyed our time there as a couple for 2 nights. The location is on top of a hill and great views from the room and pool. Rented a motorbike to get around the island but the hotel has free one-way transfer from the hotel once a day to 2 popular spots. Ala-carte breakfast was great and can be had from 6am to 6pm everyday, but only once per room per day. So you can treat it as lunch or early dinner as well.

"Beautiful location...0 Ambience"

6.0

My experience was a bit varied. I arrived and was treated well. My room wasn't ready so we waited at the pool. The photo is quite as listed. The condition of the place is a bit old and needs some maintenance. They put my bags in the wrong room. I was taking a bath and someone sorted banging on the door saying...room service. I said to come back which persisted of more banging and then finally answered. I was a bit annoyed from this, The room was nice, but the grounds needed some work. As a guest, you were allowed to use the snorkel and kayaks, but it was pre ally hard to find someone to even get them. When I did get a snorkel and go offshore, it broke while I was in the water and I had to swim back. Also the hotel didn't provide any shuttle on a frequent basis to the local beaches so anytime you wanted to go anywhere, you have to call one on the street. They wouldn't even order a taxi for you. To me it seemed like they were understaffed. Most hotels would also have offers for the spa or cooking classes. The offers they had were incredibly overpriced, which again leads you to leave the hotel.
