The Kala Samui

Boutique hotel for a quiet romantic stay. Travel to other places requires transport. Amazing views. Great staff.

The Kala is in a beautiful position high on a cliff with amazing views. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It is very appealing because its not like other large resorts and has a totally relaxed vibe. We found it to be very quiet and there is the option to go snorkeling and canoeing which we did.The surrounding area is beautiful to explore with plenty of fish and coral to see.We stayed for 11 nights and found plenty to do but I was overall disappointed in the condition of the resort which needs attention. The rooms are looking very tired and need improved lighting, which we did mention to the manager. It was almost impossible to read a book in the dim light.Also the pool area is quite small and there was often not enough lounges for everyone to use and they definitely need more shady areas to sit. To get to the beach is about a 10 minute walk which is ok, but there are not any toilet facilities or lounges available for hotel guests to use.

few comments: *this is not a luxury resort *not all the rooms are front ocean view *staff are nice *expedia mentions when you confirm the reservation that the R/T airport shuttle cost os 600 bth, and the hotel does not know that, they charge 600 bath each way. *pool is not heated *housekeeping does great job on the rooms

relaxing resort escape in secluded exotic place, hotel is nicely located on steep slope so there are many steps to climb but they offer comfortable acces to rocky sea shore, swimming pool, bar, restaurant etc. Nice views. I was impressed with big size bath tub in the room. Great place.

Glad we chose this resort even though it is a taxi ride to the tourist strip of Chewang Beach. It was lovely & quiet at night with terrific staff at your beck & call. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Would definately stay here again.

Very nice hotel. A great place to stay if you plan on spending time lounging around the hotel. Location was not ideal if you want to go out a lot, but taxis are very frequent and easy to catch from the front of the hotel. Staff tried to be helpful and accomodating but most of them had very poor English. Doing any bookings through the hotel staff or inquiring about information was a bit difficult

Great place to stay for our first trip to Koh Samui It is not in walking distance to very much but the staff was great helping us get where we wanted to go.

Our arrival was friendly and we were quickly taken to our accommodation. We are a family of four and had booked the Presidental suite. We had two seperate residences, our girls had down stairs with a lovely infinity pool accent to there bedroom. My husband and I had the upstairs accommodation. It was spacious, almost vast. The ceilings very cathedral like. The bed was very comfortable ( could had slept 4) and waking up to view of the Golf was beautiful. The decor was rustic in keeping with the architecture of the building. Tea/ coffee, sugar provided, as was complimentary bottled water. The room was made up daily upon request. The location, although quiet was just that bit far to walk to most popular locations. Taxis's were easy to organise or the hotel will drive you if a car and staff are available ( for a small fee) The staff very friendly, although on occasion we did not receive what we ordered due to a lack of English. All day breakfast a plus, Lunch and Dinner had some good options. For a healthy alternative we walked 3-4 minutes up the road to Vikasa cafe. Views and food great, also good juices.

We had the last leg of our honeymoon here in late June and absolutely loved it! The hotel showed minimal signs of wear and was very clean. We booked the duplex villa with private infinity pool, an incredible ocean view and had such a nice time relaxing after a day of fun on Chaweng beach. Rented a motor bike up the street for 300 baht per day and rode 5-15 minutes (depending on your interests) to nice restaraunts and bars. Free kayak rentals on site to explore the area in front of the hotel and 5 minutes to a beautiful secluded beach. The staff were eager to help and very friendly. Restaurant had a good variety of food and tasted great. Would love to have stayed longer!

Great Location , best views , Great Service , i Loved the Room and confort , it cant get much better
