Clarion Inn New London - Mystic

Arrived at night .Greeted with whole hotel under construction should not have been allow to rent rooms.Checked into hotel room was dirty from top to bottom to bedding refused to spent another minute in there. Checked out immediately didn’t care if we got money back.Didn’t want to pick up some kind of sickness due to such a filthy room.please stay away from this hotel until it’s deep clean and construction is done.

I have been looking for lodging in the area for several months and haven't been able to find a location that accommodates business travelers as well as vacationers. The Regency has the potential to do the job. The work in progress is definitely noticable to transform this property back to its proper condition before COVID-19 events when it was the Clarion Inn. The room was clean and spacious, the AC unit worked well which appeared to be new and the complimentary breakfast was a nice start to the day. I will be staying at this hotel in the near future.

First off This hotel has no affiliation with the Regency brand. It’s misleading to the standards you’re hoping for and should have to remove it from the mast head. The hotel itself is in disrepair and filthy. The room I booked (520) for my two young children attending a baseball tournament was even worse. My box spring was covered in what looked like vomit or brown bodily fluids (see pictures) and the room itself appeared to have not been properly cleaned in some time. There was hair all over the bathroom floor and spiderwebs in the corners. The blankets and furnitures had stains or damage. The water in the pool was white and cloudy and the filter was wild with hair balls. The hotel itself, hallways and especially the 500 block of rooms near the pool smelt like old cigarettes, marijuana and body odor. The ice machine was leaking into a moldy puddle. But worst of all is the clientele staying in a row of old damaged trailers in the back parking lot and others just roaming around the property at all hours of the night banging on doors or forcing them open. There were clearly drug users, drug seakers and drug dealers coming and going at all hours. Even an untrained lay person would be able recognize this. This kept us up for most of the night. The doors to our block of rooms were unsecured at all time, When the conditions of my room were brought to the front desks attention they told me they would deal with it, but never did. When we returned later from our games and dinner. We were stuck with what we had. Not even a mattress change or room cleaning . The other family that was with us as well were “upgraded” to a room with a foul smelling kitchen and toilet that did not work and yes you guessed it. They never came to fix the toilet! Board of health should shut this place down and the New London police should be made aware of the activity coming and going from the back building attached to the pool area. However given the blatant nature of it. I’m sure it’s not a new phenomenon. I’ve still been unable to even speak with a manger.

We booked a room here but didn't stay, despite not being able to get a refund under their policies. As soon as we turned onto the small street leading to the hotel, we knew something was amiss. There is clearly a "welfare motel." It was more like pulling into an apartment complex than a motel. The long-term residents were milling about and socializing. There are ramshackle mobile homes and busses surrounding the property. At first we were going to stay the night, and stay out all day (taking our luggage with us in the car). But after waiting in line for easily 15 minutes while residents took care of whatever issue they had, we decided to take the loss. Can't imagine the cleanliness would have been up to par. A woman with a sorry-looking pit bull was in the lobby. The dog was wearing a big diaper stained with blood and its posture made it look fearful and sad. We felt terrible for the poor thing. I understand that homeless people need a place to stay, and we as a society need to do more about. But don't advertise short-term housing for people who are down on their luck as a motel room. It's thoroughly unfair to the consumer. And I have stayed at other motels where people were being temporarily housed. It was nothing like this. This was next level. Stay away.

The beds felt like cardboard the breakfast was horrible the nights suck there is no quite time so I could Barely get any sleep the shower was bad no hand soap do not go

Stayed here for a boat show in neighboring Mystic, and had made reservations for three nights. We arrived later in the evening, and check in went smoothly, except for the fact that there is no elevator. A big issue, as my wife has difficulty navigating stairs. But we managed. Then the stairwell reeked of marijuana, as did our hallway. But it was late and we were tired, so we just went ahead and went to the room and pretty much went to bed. In the morning we noticed several things... peeling ceiling, grimy corners, zero cell service on the whole property, poor wifi, lumpy mattress. But we had a boat show to get to, so we just headed out. But on our way out, we noticed four derelict RVs in the parking lot that were obviously being lived in. The grounds were a mess, poorly maintained, trash everywhere, untrimmed bushes, just a wreck of a property. When we got back that evening, still the stink in the hallways, and we decided to leave the next morning instead of staying the extra night. When we checked out, we expressed what we were unhappy about, but the desk attendant just said they couldn't give us any money back. So... here we are. Don't stay here. It felt unsafe, wasn't clean, and just not what the property once was and absolutely could be.

Pleasantly surprised by the condition of the room and all fixtures at this price point. No microwave, but the full sized stove was a new one to me. Very clean room. Not a fan of the little squishy pillows which seem to be the norm in hotels these days. GPS put me in the shopping center next door so beware. Only downside was a rowdy group outside my window. Manager did talk to them, but it took until 10:30pm before they drove off, otherwise a quiet location close by Mystic Seaport and more.

Some of the residents appeared to be living there based on them pushing belongings in grocery carts to their rooms. The room reeked of smoke and disinfectant. It was a non smoking room, but the smell was so bad we left early. Breakfast was a mix of traveling couples like us and locals that made us wonder if was a homeless shelter.

the bed was very comfortable and the staff was great, 10 out of 10. there was free breakfast included as well as a nice place to get snacks and drinks in addition to a pool, if you need a hotel i highly recommend the regency!

I booked a room with a kitchenette- oven, microwave, full sized fridge, packed food to cook on the stove as I was there for the weekend and upon arrival stove was BROKEN where we were unable to cook the food brought- also nothing to cook with- no pots or pans or utensils.- chair was broken as well and at night cockroaches came out of the sink in the room. Where the kitchenette was located. Two women were living inside the stairwell as the entrances were not locked- their belongings were stacked beneath the staircase all day long and they were smoking inside the doorways every morning. They appeared to be homeless ladies of the night. I was there for a basketball tournament with my child and do not recommend it. NOTHING was taken off of my bill as a result of these issues which was disappointing.
