The Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm

No power. No emergency lighting or lanterns. Couldn’t see walking in. Was told power was supposed to return in 2-3 hours but also told it could be 1 am. No restaurant, no offer of anything. Decided not to stay as we have medical devices that need to be plugged in. They said they had to charge us for the room!!! I understand but they made NO effort to compromise or try to alleviate the situation. Very very poor customer service!

Such a beautiful and historic Inn plus the added the bonus of being withing easy walking distance to some great hiking.

Quaint little inn in a beautiful location! The staff were very friendly and helpful and dinner and breakfast were great! It was a great way to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary!

The new management has failed to continue the 'Welcoming Vermont Inn' reputation. Many staff members have resigned and young new hires are afraid of the large manager who sits and literally watches their every move like he's a prison guard. Rather than enjoying the ambience of the old inn, you can feel the stress. The new Inn Keeper hides in a back room and doesn't model how to connect with her guests. The old rooms still have varying problems of water quality, poor linens, odors, plumbing and loud window air conditioners that come with the age of the structure, but without the balance of a welcoming atmosphere, I don't know whether this inn will survive. Management should focus upon, "How can I make your stay better?" and sincerely mean it. We've stayed in an old inn in Killington for over 25 years and said to our professional friends, the food is great, the rooms very rustic, but ask for anything and they'll accommodate your request. Unfortunately, the current Quechee Inn will not.

Overall experience was very good. The staff is very kind, welcoming, and are great "inn keepers." Breakfast was excellent and folks tending the bar in the evenings were great. We were there for 2 nights for a wedding and the setting was magnificent/beautiful, complete with a mating pair of Bald Eagles ever present in a nearby pine tree. I had to take away a star, however, because of the room. We had one of the smaller rooms and here are the shortcomings: 1. The ONLY mirror in the room is a small mirror above the sink in the bathroom. No full length mirror or other mirror anywhere in the room. 2. No desk, not even a small one to sit at. My wife had to put her makeup on sitting scrunched in at the bedside table. One of the pieces of furniture in this room needs to be swapped out for a desk or table you can sit at. 3. Limited counter space in BR with no other shelves to put stuff 4. The bed height. When I was a medical resident we called this "orthopedic height". i.e., if you fell out of bed you'd need orthopedic surgery. It was a struggle for me, at 74 years old to get in and out of bed. Sure, they provide a step stool, but that I put on my wife's side of the bed - what? Am I supposed to switch the stool from side to side when we get up in the middle of the night - or even during the day. The presence of the stool means they are conscious of the problem - so... it means you need 2 stools - one for each side of the bed. If these issues with the room (and other rooms may be better) were solved, I would have given the Inn 5 stars. So go and enjoy - it's an excellent Inn and a great area, but get the details of the amenities and furnishings of the specific room you are booking noting the issues I've listed.

Very charming inn. The staff was wonderful - very friendly and attentive. Good breakfast. Comfortable beds. We will definitely stay here again.

We had a small family reunion at the Quechee Inn. They provided an ideal room for our reunion. Excellent food. Excellent staff. Nice job.

Check-in was easy and super friendly. The room was huge and had 2 bathrooms! (Room #11). Slept great after an incredible onsite dinner. Breakfast was excellent. Couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you to everyone who made it all happen.

If you enjoy staying in a historic country inn and being treated like royalty, the Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm is the place to go. The room we had was spacious with comfortable beds, en suite bathroom with thick cotton towels, lovely views of the Vermont countryside. There are trails all around the inn if you desire a little exercise before heading to Trayan's Tavern for a hearty meal. Don't miss the dinner specials at the inn! Fantastic food served with panache.
