The Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm

Everything will stand out. It was just a beautiful experience. Rick is very nice. The staff is very nice. My wife and I shall be returning. Our grandson goes to Dartmouth and we try to visit them as much as we can so we will definitely be staying there again

What a pleasant surprise. Love the cozy fireplace, the bar area, and the surrounding fields. The room was nice, and the dinner was amazing, and the room rates were reasonable. The full breakfast buffet was really good. When my wife and I were driving away, we both agreed that we would be back.

The inn is quaint and full of local history. They have a cozy restaurant. The inn reminds me of The Deerfield Inn and that’s a good thing.

What a wonderful experience in Vermont. The Inn is quintessential VT! The atmosphere, food, woodwork, location, and the nearby walking paths are just great! I will go back indeed! The price is right too!

Authentic old-world charm. quirks and all. Fireplaces everywhere. A lovely atmosphere with friendly service in a beautiful rural setting.

We stayed a Sunday and Monday night. The suite was excellent, room 22, with separate bedroom and sitting rooms plus a beautifully designed bathroom. There were three snafus with our stay. Our Monday breakfast, open 8-10, was delayed as the cook did not arrive until 8:20 with food out 20 minutes later. Our intended Monday dinner in their restaurant was not to be as they had a private banquet scheduled instead. Obviously that was scheduled well in advance, yet we were not informed prior to arrival nor at arrival. We improvised with takeout and ate in the bar's large sitting area (enough tables to be a dining room of its own). The barkeeper said she could offer us dessert at least, left menus, then returned minutes later to say the cook had said no. The final issue was the smell of methane gas in the back staircase on Sunday afternoon through Monday. We returned with our takeout Monday evening to find a truck cleaning out the septic tank during the banquet.

This is a quaint place to stay, well located. It is an older farmhouse with lots of history. It is well kept. The staff was very friendly. The complementary breakfast was very good and hardy.

Read recent reviews, we also had a bit of a bug problem, but I’d stop short of calling it an infestation. Mysterious, though since our windows were never opened and we were on 2nd floor. The biggest red flag for me, though, is the inn reached out for feedback after we checked out, and I invested time in a very detailed report of issues we encountered. It has been about 3 weeks so far, and not even an acknowledgement of receipt! I will say that for us, the restaurant was an excellent experience. Delicious food and great service for dinner. Also, the area is lovely and convenient for exploring.

I would avoid both the Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm and its restaurant. Both are just terrible. First the restaurant: very poor and slow service; food is not well prepared or cooked correctly (my salmon was only partially cooked even though I asked for it to be medium to well done), and the chutney on top of it had a chemical taste like lysol cleaner. The Inn: I actually cancelled my stay due to a bug infestation (bugs crawling all over the window (both inside and outside of the glass) along with a collection of a pile of dead bugs on the window sill (inside window). My room wasn't the only room with a problem (I also looked at another room that had the same problem). I over heard other people complaining about the same problem at dinner, and 2 people cancelled their stay as well due to the same problem. And, the Inn Keeper even admitted that they have a bug infestation problem. The Inn is dirty and dumpy and feels very dated. The carpets are dirty and disgusting. The Inn really needs a major overhaul. Save yourself the unfortunate and unpleasant experience and go elsewhere.

We have returned to the Quechee Inn several times over the years. We consider it a favorite when we visit Vermont. The Inn is very relaxing.The accommodations are excellent. The food is likewise excellent. And the staff are very friendly and accommodating. One could not ask for more.
