A tranquil place to relax for a night if you’re on a long road journey

Have travelled a lot & other hotels could learn a lot from the staff in this hotel! From the greeting at front of house (must mention Jake, he was so friendly & helpful) to the breakfast team, who even though they were very busy, were so chatty & helpful. This is a large hotel, less than 5 mins off M6, on a quieter road, in its own large grounds with lots of parking. Yes there are signs this hotel is well worn, obviously is well used, but our room was very clean, good bed, great pillows, quiet, & was perfect for an overnight business stay. We decided to eat at a local pub, but had drinks in the hotel bar, just normal prices. Breakfast was really good, lots of choice & ordering poached eggs was no bother for the staff. Maybe it’s a ‘Northern’ thing but the friendly staff really make this hotel, & so rare to find nowadays! Will definitely return when next on business in this area.

The staff were all particularly friendly and helpful and the food was brilliant.

Comfy bed but unclean room. Had a card in the room saying cleaned before arrival but had a weeks worth of dust and cobwebs in places. Paint was peeling from ceiling in bathroom. Window frame was split with a screw hanging out. Food and drinks prices were extortionate. Good location from motorway and racecourse which was the only good thing

Attending a works event locally made this an ideal location, comfortable rooms, friendly staff and the food was great. Although close to the motorway had no issues and it makes an ideal base for the surrounding area either work or visiting, just pay attention to the turn for the hotel if coming from the motorway if you miss the junction it's a journey to turn around as I found out but my fault.In all a great two night stay.

Went for a corporate day at the races so stayed 2 nights. Perfect location, I took a 20 minute walk into town to have an Italian meal. All the staff at the hotel where really friendly, breakfast staff where really helpful and attentative. Will 100% stay again when we are at the races.

The rooms are small and don't even have a bar fridge which I've never known in a hotel - the whole hotel looks like the nursing home it used to be The restaurant waiter who was more an elderly gentleman however was wonderful and the restaurant downstairs was nicely decorated. the rooms and the pool area and all other spots need to be renovated as they are more like boarding rooms and for the price very over priced

Only stayed one night (arrive late, leave early). Bar staff were fruendly, didnt have to wait to long for an evening meal dispite being very busy.

Looks dreadful from outside but inside was clean and modern. Staff friendly. Beds very uncomfortable 😕 Its a dog friendly hotel which I hate. Theyre everywhere yapping away and 1 large dog was jumping up and barking loud on our last stay waiting for the lift, my little is terrified so we'd never stay again when animals take precident. Food was decent and pool was nice and clean and a big hit with kids.
