Aloft by Marriott Richmond West Short Pump

I do not do pet friendly hotels, and I did not know that once I arrived it was dogs coming in everywhere

Room was clean, staff were friendly and attentive. Was looking for more in the room (microwave). But overall nice for a one night stay

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay; however, I would like to note that the air conditioning in the building was not operational, which resulted in an uncomfortable heat. Additionally, the elevator service was quite slow. Despite these issues, I found my experience to be very positive and I look forward to returning in the future. Thank you.

This hotel is not a good option despite being in a great location. The rooms feel more like college dorms than a modern hotel, and the air conditioning barely worked—it was just as hot inside as it was outside, making for a very uncomfortable night. There was also a musty odor throughout the room, possibly from water damage. I even noticed trash cans placed in the hallway, seemingly to catch dripping water from the ceiling, which was concerning. When we asked for a different room, the receptionist initially told us they were sold out. Only after requesting to speak with the manager were we suddenly offered another room. That second room was only slightly better, but at least tolerable. We originally planned to stay three nights, but due to the poor conditions, I checked out the very next morning. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this Aloft location. It needs significant updates and better attention to guest comfort and cleanliness.

Our family requested a room with two queen beds because there were 3 of us for ECNL soccer playoffs. The hotel could only provide a king size and a blow up mattress. When we arrived there was no elevator service to the 3rd floor and the air conditioner was not working in the reception area, stairwells or hallways. The room had air conditioning but smelled horrible. The remote for the TV was not working and there were no instructions on how to pair the remote to the TV. There were so many people at the hotel and so many problems the staff couldn't keep up with all the complaints. I was shocked that this location was a Marriott, I never had any issues with any other Marriott I've stayed at in the past. Will not be staying at any other Alofts in the future.
