Wenjin Hotel

Good hotel right outside Tsinghua U. for visiting. The room was spacious and clean.

Hotel air conditioning did not work throughout the building, room was 80+ degrees. Concierge/front desk either unable or unwilling to call taxis for guests and are generally unhelpful. Mold in bathrooms, black water coming out of tub faucet. Wifi extremely flaky and pretty much unusable.

I needed to attend a business meeting which was being held in the Wenjin hotel and this meant I stayed in this hotel for two nights. My room and the facilities in the hotel were as expected for the star rating of this hotel. The check-in process was a little slower than I would have expected. The location of this hotel is conveniently near to the Tsinghua university campus.

I stayed twice at this hotel recently. I have already been asked to send a review, and I did so last week: a long, carefully considered, critical but constructive review of this hotel (which has atrociously bad cafe management problems, and is otherwise only okay). But there's no sign of this review on your website. Perhaps this new prompt refers to my second stay, which would be understandable. But please understand that Hotels.com clients are not going to bother to make comments if all the effort gets lost in processing, as it appears happened in the case of my prior review.

I've stayed at the Wenjin Hotel about 8 times since it opened, and it is really going downhill. It's starting to look dingy in the rooms and hallways. The service at the front and concierge desks are fine, and the cleaners are okay. But the cafe for breakfast has become utterly disgusting, with the central problem atrociously bad service. To find a place to sit you have to bus your own table, the dirty dishes just piling up, and you have to chase down clean silverware or chopsticks to eat. The food is blah, the coffee is lukewarm, and the tables have spilled food crusted on them. It is unbelievably bad for a so-called 5-star hotel. The hotel is otherwise passable (if overpriced), but if you stay there, for breakfast try the independent coffeeshop (Model Coffee) on the east end of the building. It's clean, they have a few breakfast items, and the coffee will be better, too. Meanwhile, Wenjin, please fire your cafe manager ASAP and hire some interior painters. Until then, I'm going to give the UnisCenter nearby another try.

they should understand what good customer service means! the frontdesk staff should know that they are in the hospitality business but they seem to be resentful of their job!

It was an OK hotel. The rate for the breakfast buffet was a good deal.

It is just located by the south gate of Tsing-Hua, very convenient. Their breakfast was great and it only cost $10. I liked everything about it.

The level of hospitality is not up to par of 4 to 5 start hotel. It is like a 3 star hotel.

The hotel is very close to Tsinghua Uni. The location is good for me. However, the food is very expensive in the hotel.The room is a little bit small and it is very dry in the room.
