The hotel room was clean

Very disappointed with the service. When we arrived we were sent to the wrong room twice and the 2nd time we was sent to a room. It was a construction site. Tools and equipment everywhere. Went back down to reception and had to wait for the staff to sort it out. No one seemed to know what was going on. We came down for breakfast at 10.30 to be told the kitchen was now closed and it closed at 10.30. We were 2 minutes late- felt this was terrible services as we had paid to stay in the hotel - people on other tables has just been served their breakfast so it wasn’t like the kitchen has closed hours ago. It must have been. 2 minutes maximum and they couldn’t make an exception for hotel guests. Felt that service was poor.

Central location, comfortable rooms, good food, private parking, dog friendly.

Beautiful old building in a lovely location. Staff friendly and helpful. Very comfortable beds.

Would be nice to have a tray for the tea coffee and kettle and some coasters to protect the nice dark wood furniture. Few marks in the bedding. Beds were very comfortable. Few more plug sockets would be helpful. Evening meal could do with some more seasoning and being served on warmer plates though the presentation was lovely. Basically few small touches would make a big difference.

Historic building so the room was small with low beams. Bed was comfy and the staff were great. I thought that the price including breakfast was very reasonable.

Room 3 was very impressive, and the bathroom was lovely. Didnt eat dinner at the hotel as we arrived a bit too late but the breakfast was very good. The history of the place is amazing, you feel like you have gone back in time.

Dinner ended at 7.30pm (midweek) and there was no hairdryer in the room. There was quite a lot of noise from the road, but with windows that old it can be expected.
