Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Carthage by IHG

Horrible (dangerous) security and dismissive staff. Every day there was a stone left in the side entry door jam to prevent it from closing and also at the side stairwell exit door. This happened every day and evening, obviously to allow some known person into the building without coming through the front door. I saw this person enter through the stairwell exit door one morning, who had come in earlier to fill plates at the breakfast bar. Also smelled marijuana at this end of the building. I reported this to the front desk, who was aware, said it happened all the time and gave me permission to kick the stones out, which I regularly did over the next 4 days! Terrible!

Breakfast was great!

Bathtub wasn't clean. No bathmat towel and the towels were few.

Easy check in. Comfy bed. Quiet. Healthy breakfast options.

The flooring in our room needs replacing. It appears to be coming unglued from the subsurface.

Needs to have a charging station for electric vehicles.

It was nice.

The only reason I'm giving this hotel a one is because zero is not an option. staff was friendly and apologetic but the room was terrible. there were ants all over the bathroom counter once I laid my things out. The air conditioner leaked all over the floor and had been leaking long enough to wear when you walked on the floor in the area water oozed up between the vinyl tiles. This is my third bad experience at this hotel and I am done. I will never stay there again.
