Dalesgate Hotel

I was working overnight nearby and I chose the Dalesgate for my base. Hotel was perfectly fine although incredibly quiet. I don't think the bar was open. I stayed during the period of really cold weather we had in December and my room was nice and warm, bed was incredibly comfy although the fixtures and fittings in the room were a little dated (didn't bother me particularly, just an observation). Breakfast was good, although the breakfast room was cold. Staff were friendly

We spent a night here recently, booked it to be able to visit Haworth Xmas market. On arrival the first impression not great as there is a housing estate to the rear, where the car park is, which spoils the views of the hills very much. However the only member of staff we saw all the time we were there was friendly and professional. The room was warm and clean, if a little dated but keeping a business going these days is tough and there didn't appear to be many other guests in a large hotel. The breakfast was a solid 7/10 for us and the hotel ticked all the boxes for basics. We parked on the main road as we felt it was safer. When checking in we were told the front door was locked at 11pm, however when we returned at 9pm, we rang the door twice with no answer and had to negotiate some icy steps to enter through the rear security door. Somewhere to stay if you just need a place to rest your head and move on, but wouldn't recommend a longer stay.

I was recommended the Dalesgate by another hotel in the area. I must admit with the very mixed reviews on here I was concerned at what I would find on arrival but yet again there are unfortunately people giving bad reviews who have unrealistic expectations. On arrival I was greeted by a very friendly gentleman on reception who booked me in, guided me to my room and advised on the time for breakfast the next morning. He also advised on the combination code for the door leading out to the car park, a huge bonus as I had a dog with me so was only a couple of minutes from my ground floor room. The room was spacious, clean and perfectly fine for what the hotel are charging. With a large comfortable bed, nice en-suite and well stocked tea tray. My husband had breakfast the next morning and said it was the quickest service he’d ever experienced, with a good choice of cereals, nice full English and loads of tea. We both said we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again

If you want to go to a friendly run hotel this isn’t the place We wanted to support the hotel and have a drink from their bar, when my partner asked the managers reply was ‘if you must, I don’t see why you need one if your going to a beer festival’ this comment made me feel uneasy when returning to the hotel later in the evening Our bathroom was also not like clean, staff shortage shouldn’t be a excuse The breakfast was nice and the lady who served us was great

Really nice friendly cosy hotel with great views out back over the Dales. Excellent breakfast. Great value

The hotel is on a main road and has access to free parking at the rear. I chose it because it was handy for the work I was doing in nearby Skipton. The room was very clean and was cleaned on a daily basis. The service was very good and I had a pleasant stay. I couldn't fault it for the price

Great service however be aware it is tight in first floor rooms.

Excellent one night stay, the room was spacious and very clean, giving that "homely" feeling. Continental breakfast was lovely. The car park is behind the building and despite of what some other feedbacks state, my SatNav had no problem and perfectly navigated me there. I definately stay at Dalesgate Hotel again, if I will be visiting the area in the future.
