Friendly and helpful staff at the reception.

The issue was no hot water during our say. On arrival the hotel team offered to cancel the booking with a full refund or provide a 25% discount to continue with the booking. The timing was unfortunate for the hotel and all the guests.

"Hotel didn’t inform us ahead of time that they had no hot water"

Nothing

When we arrived at the hotel the duty manager informed us that the property had no hot water. The issue had happened at 9pm the previous day, and we had not been contacted before our check in time. We had travelled from London to Sheffield for this stay, but had not been made aware of the issue with the hot water until we arrived at the hotel to check in. The duty manager offered a 25% discount, which he then extended to 30% and a ‘free bottle of water’, which was rather disrespectful. No hot water is a deal breaker, not something that could be remedied with a free bottle of water and a small discount. We ended up booking a new hotel on the spot, inevitably at a higher price than the Leonardo as the booking was so last minute. I understand that issues happen - but it is essential that the hotel informs guests who are checking in as soon as possible so that they can make alternate plans. With the issue happening at 9pm the night before, they could have emailed me or called me before I travelled from London for this stay.

"I didn’t stop at hotel"

Overall the hotel was beautiful, but there was no hot water on arrival, and secondly I had to leave about 18.30pm because of family emergency so didn’t even stop night.

I was told I would be getting a refund because no hot water, and I have Stoma so this was no good for my needs, receptionist said refund will be sorted.
