Lyme Bay House

Breakfast was great. It was well cooked and nicely presented. There was always a wide range of food available and the host went out of her way to suit everybody’s taste. My room was very clean and comfortable with everything I needed. The hotel was conveniently placed within walking distance of town, railway station, buses and pubs. I used public transport to explore the surrounding area and found it more than adequate for the length of my stay. For walkers, nature lovers, or just for admiring the very attractive local scenery there is much to explore.

There was a fairly steep hill to climb to get back from the town which some might find a bit tiring. However I was informed by the helpful host of an easier shortcut. There were extensive works being undertaken in the centre of Dawlish but it’s fair to say that I was there out of season and they will eventually add to the attraction of a very interesting and welcoming place to stay.

Die Früchte beim Frühstück waren noch gefroren oder aus der Dose. der Kaffee hatte gar kein Aroma Das Hotel wirkt alt und abgenutzt - sehr altertümlich und nicht sauber die Türen und Fenster quietschen wie auch alle Böden die leider aus Teppich sind es war auch nicht sauber ich würde es niemandem empfehlen und viel zu teuer

No breakfast, though the reviews said breakfast was good. Room small, bli is broken, no bedside storage for books etc. Bathroom tiny and almost unusable. Said I had mobility issues when I booked, we were given a room on the first floor up steep stairs with inadequate hand rail. Corridors were tight with doors.blocking passageway. Parking was OK but back gate not always open. Had call from owner when we were on our way asking when we would arrive as they wanted to go out. Very poor and would not stay there again, nor recommend - way too expensive. Advertised as a hotel, answered phone as guesthouse and offered B&B with out the Breakfast. Avoid.
