The Royal Station Hotel

Due to closeness of railway station I found it difficult to sleep

Room was Noisy due to trains running whilst I was trying to sleep

Located in the centre of the town of Carnforth - famous for the film 'Brief Encounter' - the hotel is in close vicinity of the railway station. The building has been completely modernised to an exceptionally high standard - and the facilities are excellent as are the rooms. The owners and team are friendly, engaging, customer focused and professional, and the guest is made to feel valued. Although without a car park there is on-street parking - however, there is an excellent facility directly opposite the hotel in the form of the railway station car park - plentiful & secure spaces, managed by RingGo and just £1.50 (online price) for an overnight stay until 8am.

There is nothing not to like.

We found the staff to be very helpful, kind and approachable with any questions we had. The hotel was gorgeous with its interiors and was well kept. We ate at the Junction on the first night which again was lovely, with kind and enthusiastic staff and good food! The location was great - parked at the train station over the two days and were able to drive over to lots of places nearby to explore!

I struggle with my back, especially in bed and during the night so when researching places to stay, I looked carefully into how comfortable the beds were - I noticed a lot of people saying their stay was comfortable so we went for this hotel however our mattress was insanely hard and not bouncy at all - we were in a top, family room so luckily had a spare duvet to use as a mattress topper which helped but that was a downside to our stay. Apart from that, everything else was brilliant
