White Hart Inn

The photographs do not match the current state of this slum so do not be fooled. I’m a regular and have stayed here a few times but this year I have never witnessed a room being so dirty and unkept it was if somebody had slept in the bed there where blood stains and pee stains on my duvet and mattress protector, the room stunk to high heaven of pee and room spray, there where hairs in the bath, pubic hairs covering the floor, the view was unbelievable, just out of my window there where mattresses and duvets that looked like they’d been left to rot, the list could go on. I would guarantee if you stayed here you’d be very disappointed and would want you a refund. Absolutely awful place.

Lack of parking

Bath drain didn't work, mouldy tiles, very damp and smokey smell in downstairs bedroom, dirty teaspoons in sink on arrival, toilet stained, hairdryer didn't work, shower controls completely opposite to marked controls and hot would have scalded you, but besides this convenient location and staff lovely. Not sure it would be 2* though as verging on 1*.

Friendly staff, comfy bed, and a "local" feel made our stay a pleasant one. Live jazz in the bar was a nice surprise. The breakfast was very good. The position, right outside the cathedral green, is excellent.

The room (Room 5) could do with a little redecoration and re-fitting, but that didn’t spoil things for us.

Close to the Cathedral and its grounds and other attractions. Breakfast was ace. Good selection of beers.

Room was clean, but some parts of the room needs attention. Full length Mirror too low on the wall. A Grab rail over the bath would be a wise inclusion as getting in and out of bath difficult. Cracked Tiles, grotty grout around bath and shower screen. Shower hose Leaked, Mattress had seen better days or (Nights) very lumpy and sagged on the edge. Outside area quite scruffy and needs a bit of a tidy up, cigarette ends and litter on the floor in the yard.
