It was pleasant experience. I had change of plans and had to stay in Port-au-Prince for 1 night. I was happily surprised of le Plaza Hotel. Clean rooms, friendly staff and doos authentic Haitian food The bathrooms need to be update though.
Lovely stay in a great location. The staff are very kind and accommodating.
Facility is ok, but the rooms condition is terrible. Lot of mold in the shower tiles and tub; the shower tub was clogged and the water did not drain while taking a shower. I don't know what kinds of towels they use but they are as old as when the place was the Holiday Inn. In other words the place is in a dire need of a make serious make over. Please renovate that place.
Good value for money; good ambiance. Poor breakfast options/no variety.
GBThis was my 4th visit to Le plaza and it gets better every time. From the moment we checked in we were greeted with warm welcomes, smiles and comments welcoming us back which made us feel at home. The grounds were as green and beautiful as ever forcing you to relax, the pool as usual was spotless and is cleaned every morning. The room was cleaned to perfection every day and we enjoyed many meals at the restaurant which were always delicious. The meals are expensive by American standard but have always been to a high standard, I would recommend the steak in coffee sauce and my husband loved the creole chicken. We will of course visit again in the near future.
What a wonderful experience, great pool, great food, great drinks and met some wonderful people. Highly recommend!
So first off I'd like to say that this is my FIRST time ever writing a review for a hotel and I've been to many throughout my travels. This hotel has BY FAR the best staff that I've ever been around. I stayed for about a week and man was I always excited to see the people every time I left the room! The area is very close to the many sites of the city and is gated and well guarded.The rooms are very comfortable and The food is amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone coming to Haiti! Thank you all, Steve :)
FRGood points: central location (close to many institutions), very welcoming employees, good haitian food, cleanliness. But prices are too high compared to the services offered: 1hour to get a salad, not always hot water in bathroom. If you have to work, avoid rooms close to the restaurant (loud music until 11pm), air conditioning noisy in the rooms. The hotel's website indicates prices from $81, but those rooms do not seem to exist. (avoid it during the carnival season, activities take place in front of the hotel: rooms at $400/ night and a lot of noise)
