Le Plaza Hotel

I see myself as a regular guest of Le Plaza Hotel, even though I had not stayed there in the past two years. But I made sure to renew the relationship on my last trip to Haiti this month of June. The service is upbeat; the staff very friendly and attentive; the food is delicious, but I favor breakfast over dinner. For breakfast, I particularly enjoyed the dish called AK100. Very yummy!!! The room and bathroom very clean and comfortable; TV with international channels, free fast-speed WiFi; a very nice freezer, but no microwave. The outdoor pool is very inviting. Among the staff, I especially thank Gaspar and Marcelin. This is an excellent hotel to stay in. It also offers its great services at a better price compared to the other hotels in the area. I believe you will enjoy every bit of it. Go for it!

The fifth star is for the devotion and care the owners lavished on this lovely oasis of greenery, in downtown Port au Prince, opposite the bustling Champs de Mars where oratory at times leads to demonstrations. Nothing too fancy but the Old World attention to cleanliness, unobtrusive service and delicious, indigenous food is entrancing and makes Le Plaza the "go to" hotel for savvy travelers to Haiti.

We stayed here for a couple nights. We enjoyed our stay! The inner courtyard (where the pool and restaurant are) is lovely. There are lots of flowers and other plants that make it feel like a tropical oasis. The pool looked clean and there were lounge chairs around it. The rooms were great! The bed was comfortable. It had lots of amenities- mini fridge, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, and safe. The bathroom was good and they had great hot water. They provided some toiletries and 2 bottles of drinking water. The restaurant is pretty good. We were there on Mother's Day, so they were only serving a buffet, no ordering from the menu. The food that day was good. I had grilled conch, which I really enjoyed. The second night we ordered off the menu. I got the tropical fish, which came in a coconut and fruit sauce. It was good. Their beers are icy cold! For the most part, the service was good, and there were some really lovely people who worked there. The only problem was that the second night, the server we had seemed to be in a massive rush to get us to leave, even though we only sat down to eat at about 7pm. There is no elevator, so if you have trouble with stairs make sure you get a ground floor room. They have an ATM machine which is very convenient. The wifi and air conditioner worked well. It was pretty quiet, though the rooms near the parking lot are noisier because they are closest to the plaza. The parking lot was secure. I can't comment on the area around the hotel, because we didn't have a chance to explore. They were able to arrange airport pickups for us. It was a bit expensive, but they were reliable. I would definitely stay here again!

We picked the hotel because we thought downtown would be active and surrounded of restaurants, bars, boulevards as any other city has, specially when you see the name of the addresses but it was the opposite. Although the people of the hotel was very friendly and the room was clean and confortable, no complains about that, we felt trapped, there is nothing outside similar of what I mentioned, there are not restaurants, not even basics ones, only inside the hotel, and there menu was very limited and expensive in comparison with Dominican. We order a couple of times some food they didn't have, and there was on the menu... So our second night we thought to walk outside and cross the street..... there is like a park, very dark by the way, but the people was very persistent asking for money, we knew this would happen, and that not bother us because we understand the reality of Haiti, but some people was very offensive if you do not give them nothing or not respond to their comments.... So we though.... Well this is not safe..... And we return to the hotel, at least we felt safe there.... Maybe there are other areas in Port Prince with this kind of variety of places but not in downtown.... And we walked a lot during all the mornings trying to find some good place to eat or drink and we found some places but not what we expected.... I think if you go to the hotel for business is okay but not for tourism...

I’ve been to Haiti before and usually stay with someone. This is the first that I stayed in a hotel in Haiti. I stayed for 4 nights and I had a good experience. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I also enjoyed the breakfast buffet since they had something different each day. The only thing. Is that the restaurant here doesn’t take US money, but you can go to the front desk to exchange money. The courtyard is nice place to sit to relax. I would stay here again.

Nice hotel close to the downtown. but... Normally, breakfast was included in my plan. I don't understand why they wanted me to pay for breakfast. I don't appreciate this at all.

Nice older style hotel. Great courtyard and pool with a relaxing atmosphere for destressing after work. While the front desk staff were always helpful, the restaurant staff can be very inattentive - leaving guests waiting for menus, service... Located near supermarket with easy access to ATMs. Not many restaurant options nearby, which is a minus. The 'taxi' rates are extortionists - USD 10 to travel 1-1.5 km so you are pretty much stuck at the hotel at the mercy of the inattentive restaurant staff and food that could be improved.

Had a great time love that i was able to walk to a few attractions .
