Very clean and the best shower I have had in a long time. This hotel is in transition, so if you need everything to be the best and perfect, don't stay here. But the location is terrific and the rooms are clean. I would stay here again. We had a corner room which overlooked Lerwick Harbor from one window and Bains Beach from the other. We listened to the waves as we fell asleep. The staff was friendly. Over time, I expect more work will be done. Eventually, the restaurant will open. But for today? We had everything we needed. Yes, I will stay again!!

everything, from the peeling 80s wallpaper the smell of damp and rot, the threadbear carpets, the rotting window frames, the brokem handrails on bath and toilet roll holders its like a really bad 1980s movie theres no food, theres no toiletries ie soap and for all this squalor, i paid £600 for 4 nights unbelievable rip off

Loved the room. Ground floor, right over the water, could hear the sound of the water lapping at the shore. So peaceful. The room was incredibly clean and bed was comfortable. The bath was a little bit of luxury for me, and the shower pressure was good and hot. Honestly was a bit dubious after reading other reviews but I really enjoyed it - I wanted a clean, private, quiet, relaxing space to unwind and got exactly that. Would stay again - especially if I knew I was getting that exact room!

The decor is obviously outdated but there’s ongoing renovations and I’m sure the restaurant and bar will be great once they’re opened up again. No one at reception at check-out but there was a phone number to ring and that was just as easy. Overall not a lot to dislike!

We stayed at the Queens Hotel during Shetland wool week. The location couldn’t have been more perfect, within walking distance to everything. We were very hesitant to stay there because the reviews were so bad, however, we were pleasantly surprised. If you are used to staying at the Four Seasons or the St Regis then you wouldn’t want to stay here. If you are used to staying at average European hotels with worn furniture and plumbing, you will find this place more than adequate. It was clean, the beds and linens were very comfortable, the towels were large, and it was quiet. It came equipped with a fan and hairdryers. No elevator and 59 steps upstairs to the top floor (counted them each time I went up! Good for working off calories). The manager Sean was so helpful and kind, carrying my friend’s 50 pound suitcase all the way to the top and then refusing a tip. One of my friends had a problem with her room - toilet wouldn’t flush and water pipe was leaking, and she was promptly moved to another room. Honestly, we were very happy with our room and I would stay there again.

I had a short stay in the queens in lerwick. I honestly couldn't get better customer service. To name drop. Sam. Absolute star, all that I could ask for, recommendations on local pubs, food and locations. Couldn't have more positive compliments for this man. Top notch. So friendly and welcoming, as soon as I arrived he was passing the hallway and suddenly stopped and welcomed me in.
