La Meridiana

A lovely, quiet location. Very clean room and perfect spot in Sorrento.

Decent central location only about 10min walk to centre, nice clean rooms and friendly staff, but otherwise pretty average. We arrived at the end of april and rooms were quite warm, air conditioning wasnt available because it wasnt in season and they wouldnt turn it on, so had to sleep with patio door open, beds were okay but awful brick pillows which were very uncomfortable, and all like that. Small fridge in the room, and security box which you pay extra for, but no kettle/beverage facilities which wouldve been nice to have We stayed half board, and some reviews we had read were quite right, breakfast wasnt too bad but didnt change much - usually cornflakes & museli, yoghurts, some cooked items such as scrambled egg, and typically european equivalent of bacon and breakfast hotdogs, with a variety of cakes and such, however the evening meals were not so good. You had to pick your meals for later whilst having breakfast which was fine, but some meals werent the best, and desserts were questionable - which at one point i chose a "fruit selection" because i didnt like the other option to only find out later my "fruit selection" was a whole peeled orange...... disappointing to say the least.

We stayed here for ten nights in April/ May and had a wonderful time. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly and professional. The hotel is perfectly located, overlooking lemon groves (the aromas were lovely), very close to the centre and close to the port and train station, so it is very easy to explore the Bay of Naples, Capri and the Amalfi Coast. It is very easy to take boats, trains and buses to explore, which we did most days! There was a good choice of food for breakfast, including hot and cold food and a fantastic choice of pastries and cakes, lovely coffee, and three courses for evening meals; I thought that the choice and quality was very good, and it was served hot (I had read previous reviews saying that the food was cold and not very good but I did not find that to be the case). There is no pool but there is a wonderful roof top terrace with sun beds and spectacular views. All in all we had a wonderful time and I would stay here again if / when I return to Sorrento , and would recommend to friends and family.

This was our first visit to Sorrento, but definitely not our last. The Hotel Meridiana is an excellent place to stay ,just five minutes from the centre of Sorrento right next to two lemon groves and the wonderful lemon farm/restaurant La Limonaia. The Hotel exceeded expectations, the staff were all friendly and helpful ,the rooms were spotlessly clean . We were half board and I can honestly say we enjoyed all the meals. At breakfast there was plenty of choice and lots of fresh fruit . Dinner offered a good choice of dishes all locally sourced and cooked in the traditional way , a true taste of Italy. We will definitely stay at The Hotel Meridiana again and would throughly recommend it for anyone looking for a Hotel that is close to the centre , excellent staff ,lovely food, spotlessly clean, and did I mention the great views over the Bay of Naples especially from the great roof terrace . It was unfortunate that the rooftop bar wasn’t open as I had looked forward to that… but I did have an amazing view from my room, and the staff was very helpful in so many ways. They helped me with the ferry schedule, and the train schedule, and always seemed happy to see me when I returned after my daily adventures! I also loved the daily breakfast at the hotel, it as excellent. The only negative was waiting til late in the afternoon to be able to check into my room, that could be something to consider improving.

Holiday for 7 nights at this hotel, chosen for location mainly. The hotel was half board through TUI, We turned up at noon and couldn't get into room until 4pm. We did not blame the hotel for this as TUI should be organising this better. Now for the positives and there's plenty of them. We were on 3rd floor room 311 in partial sea view which was fab. Room was spacious, fresh towels, soap, toilet tissue and maid service every day. We had twin beds which were very comfy and beautiful fresh bed linen. There was a small fridge which was fab. The balcony was very spacious too! Plenty sockets for charging our phones, no usb slots that I could see. No tea coffee making facilities but we took our own travel kettle which was ideal. Shower was amazing. You choose your evening meal in the morning at breakfast and they give you menu. It's actually very good idea and it's nicer than a buffet in the evening . I can honestly say the food was really very good, always served hot on heated plates, the soups were absolutely delicious, we had various main meals like pork, fish, pasta, chicken, turkey etc. Huge portions! You order your wine etc and it gets charged to your room, we had bottle of wine and they can cork it for you and serve the next night if anything left. The breakfasts were great, lovely coffee, juices, fruit, boiled eggs, toast, pancakes, beans, sausages, bacon, various pastries yogurts, absolutely everything you would want. They give you a tine slot when you arrive for food and try accommodate you. We were happy that we got 9am slot which was the latest. We also took an 8pm slot for dinner. The staff were really good and went out of their way for you. We had a photo taken of the staff who were exceptional. In the morning of departure we even got a little bag to takeaway our breakfast as had early flight. Thank you so much to the hotel staff for a fantastic stay which I honestly can't fault. We visited Capri, Positano by ferry and only 10 mins walk 2 the port. Took a train to San Agnello, train station 5 mins walk and supermarket only a 7 minutes walk. Walk through the park you will find a square and beautiful bakery there for pastries. Check out the lemon garden place which is only about 10 minutes walk from hotel. The main square is around 10 mins walk too.

We stayed at this hotel for a week, we didn't have any issues while staying . Our review is based on our experience, staff friendly and laid back. Food was good and not so good depending on what was on offer. Main portions quite small, smallest we have had in a hotel. Dessert disappointing, you choose your evening meal at breakfast. My husband is a picky eater and struggled on some days to get something he would like. I find it a bit of joke to be offered a peeled orange on a plate as an option. Yes there was 2 options but in both cases it wasn't very imaginative or fulfilling. One night a party of about 20 guests seemed to get better food than those on the other side of side of the restaurant. I watched a large cake being cut up for all of the big party side and then a same version came out for everyone else which was half the size of what had been previously cut up. For the money we paid I would have expected more as it was not cheap. No air conditioning available until May so rooms too hot at night, beds and pillows like bricks. Stiff knecks all round after laying on hard flat pillows all week. It's a shame really as this hotel could be a lot better considering the friendly staff they have. The hotel was clean and our room was also well cleaned. Based on these factors we would not return.

Loved this wee hotel. Very close to Sorrento city centre. Comfortable and Clean hotel, Attentive staff and good food. Stayed for one week on half board and enjoyed every minute. Staff in the restaurant couldn't be more helpful. Reception staff also very helpful whenever required. great base for Amalfi coast, Capri and Pompeii trips. Would definitely use La Meridiana again.

Just spent a week in this hotel. Cannot fault it. The staff were all so helpful, nothing was too much trouble, always smiling and polite. Cleanliness was excellent, food and service we couldn't fault. We found it a quiet hotel, just far enough away from the main street to enjoy the peace but only a 5 minute walk to the shops, bars and restaurants. Pity the Roof Terrace was still closed, would have been nice to enjoy the views. Thanks to all staff for making our stay so enjoyable.
