Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa

The Omni Resort Amelia Island has quite dated rooms (presents as circa 1995), but service is fantastic and common areas have been updated. I will start with the room. Room: Oceanfront Queen High Floor The room, as mentioned, was very dated. The sliding door to the balcony was stuck and did not open. The shower was rusted and the shower dripped constantly. The toilet also ran constantly (and would randomly make loud noises). The door deadbolt would stick and not close often. The bath towels also presented as circa 1995 and were very thin. Common Areas: Common areas are quite updated and nice. There was also ample seating available. The pool area was empty most of my visit. The coffee shop, Palmetto Press, was always busy and long waits—the resort needs more staffing to keep up with demand, especially when conferences are hosted at the venue. I waited almost an hour for a coffee on a Tuesday. However, service was always friendly. Location: This resort is in the middle of nowhere! I recommend either renting a car, reserving Uber in advance, or preparing to not leave the resort. The resort is also expansive, so prepare to walk a lot (and inevitably get lost on the grounds as signage is missing along several of the walking paths). For a very short professional conference, the resort was fine. I would not stay for pleasure.

The Omni Amelia Island was exactly the type of trip we were looking for. Something easy with a ton to do within walking distance from the resort. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. Great pool area and a nice beach. Awesome variety of restaraunts, which we took advantage of. Golfed at Little Sandy one morning, which is a perfect place to play when you want to get some swings in but don't want to spend half a day of vacation on the course. Really impressed with overall experience. For this trip, it was just my wife and I, but we talked about how it would also be a great place to bring our kids or do a trip with a small group of adults.

I recently stayed at Omni Amelia Island Resort for a wedding, and while the trip ultimately turned around, it didn’t start the way we expected. We had booked our stay nearly a year in advance as part of a wedding block, only to find out that our reservation had been canceled due to a New York Life event. We were instead placed in a villa that was not in great condition and didn’t meet the standard we were expecting for a resort of this level. Dining at Surfcaster was also a bit of a letdown. The food was decent, but the service was noticeably slow, which took away from the experience. That said, not everything fell short. The pool service was excellent—attentive, friendly, and exactly what you’d hope for during a relaxing resort stay. Most importantly, the front desk managers truly stepped up. After a day of frustration after frustration, they worked hard to make things right and were able to move my wife and me into the room we originally should have had. Their effort and professionalism made a big difference and salvaged what could have been a much more disappointing experience. Overall, while there were some significant bumps at the start, the strong service recovery and great pool staff helped turn things around.

Excellent location, our room was clean and had a fantastic view of the pool and the beach, the employees were very friendly and very helpful at all times, very relaxed atmosphere, the food was very good as well

I just checked into Room 165. There was a dead bug on one of robes and the other robe looks like someone soiled the back. There was a near death bee on the floor that I almost stepped on (there is also a live fly in the room, but that I can excuse). And there was a bent safety pin on the carpet that I did step on. I have no faith in the cleanliness of this place. Was really looking forward to relaxing in the room but now just worried about surprise awaits me next. Absolutely awful.

This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel; it is barely a 2 star. Rooms are nothing special. Bathroom mirror light did not work, was missing a bath mat and had no amenities. On first day, housekeeping sent a text they were unable to service the room as do not disturb was on. Apparently only gave 1 try. Room was available from 9-11 AM and from 11:30 until 4PM. After sent a response they showed up. They charge $40/day for valet which had waits of 15-30 minutes. We were charged only $25 because we have a handicap placard. There is no on-site parking available, so there is no choice. Our 3 days were rainy with gale force winds so nothing to do! But they still charged a $40/day resort fee! Only 1 bar/lounge in the hotel which was overrun with families and unruly young children. So complimentary wine/beer chits Don'as a member) went unused. Have stayed in other Omni Hotels and had a great experience. Don't mind paying if get what is promised. That is not the case at this hotel.

I have absolutely no complaints about my stay! The staff, the food, the amazingly beautiful events, and the entire vibe was awesome!

We had a lovely time here, but its very expensive, and as a resort that is not all-inclusive, the costs quickly add up and everything is incredibly overpriced. I really enjoyed myself, but given the location, I don't feel the prices were reasonable. If you're traveling to Amelia Island, I highly recommend you check this out (though maybe not during spring break -- so crowded with kiddos lol), but if you're picking an area of Florida to visit, this is not the best bang for your buck

Partly due to poor weather, we could not enjoy outdoor activities much, including the beach and especially the pool areas. The hotel was overrun with small children- very noisy and crowded in the pool, hot tubs, restaurants, bars, all around. Maybe this is a nice (but expensive) destination for families, but it is not so good for adults.
