"Checked out early."

2.0

We found this hotel so terrible, we checked out two nights early. We booked the quadruple room. Upon arrival, the girl at the desk was pleasant and polite. But things quickly went downhill once we entered our actual room. We entered to find a tiny room with only one bed. We discovered we had to set up and make the pull out couch ourselves. As we did so the bed seemed broken and tipped when we attempted to sit on it. We continued to inspect the room and realised the floor was unclean, with crumbs, dust and gum like substance stuck in it. We bought all of this to the attention of the staff. The young girl at the counter was polite and understanding and said she would call the manager to fix both the broken bed and have the room cleaned. When the manager arrived she was extremely rude. Telling us there was nothing wrong with the bed we had just set it up wrong. She did correct the bed but we pointed out that it should not of been our responsibility to set up the bed and that even her staff didn't know how to. She then claimed the floor was fine, seeming to just want to argue with everything we were saying. We again had to show her the gum and the dirt. She finally conceded to reclean the floor when we left. But upset with our treatment we made an argeement if we weren't satisified by the morning we would leave and only pay for one night. We went out to wonder the town and returned several hours later to find the room still unclean. We inspected the bathroom, which we hadn't done before horrified to find it had not been cleaned from the last guests. We found hair on the shower floor and bobby pins on the sink. The bathroom was grubby in general and smelt. We spent the night, without showering. The mattresses and pillows clearly worn out. The two beds out left little to no room for our luggage - we found it unbelievable they sold it as a four person room. We checked out the next morning. The woman at the desk (different to the one in the morning) refused to acknowledge us, instead waved her hand her demand our paper work as she spoke to the manager on loud speaker for 10minutes. She still didn't say anything as she processed our payment for the night and we left. The hotel is secured behind a gate - we were never informed there was a code to exit and enter. So as we left the gate was closed and we could not exit. We asked the staff for help but they refused and shouted "Just press the buttons." It wasn't until we demanded they show us that they begrudgingly helped! Further warning - there is no lift. We carried our luggage up 3 flights of stairs. The pool is dirty. We found another hotel, much cheaper and far more pleasant. Do not book Armenonville. Staff do not care about their guests and rooms are unclean.

"Good"

4.0

The location is good and with easy parking but the room condition is poor. Old furniture and bathroom and dirty bedsheets and quilt. No lift, need to take heavy luggage and climb up to 3rd floor.

"Nice hotel with very friendly service"

8.0

Drove down for a couple night stay. The hotel had more of a B&B feel to it. A little outdated but has everything you need. The people running the hotel were very friendly. The free parking was great. Everything is about a 10-20 minute walk away from the beach to the restaurants. Would definitely stay there again.

"Not as advertised "

6.0

Stayed here recently for a few nights, good things first. Staff are nice and speak good English, a very safe gated hotel with free parking on the grounds which was perfect for us. The exterior also presents well, well looked after with a pool and a classic look. Away from the hustle of the centre yet is a short walk. Now onto the bad. Rooms are simply not as good as the photos suggest, this is false advertising. One room was so bad, it felt like a cold prison cell. The 'renovated rooms' are unfinished, missing tiles, unpainted sections, no shower curtain or door so the whole bathroom would be wet by the time you are done. Room didn't feel clean with greasy floors, breakfast was very average (extra cost). Overall, it was OK but we don't recommend this hotel (the only one not to in our 4 week trip).

"Armenonville"

6.0

The hotel was easy to find within the town however once we arrived we had to stand outside the locked gate with our luggage for about 15-20 minutes with no response through the buzzer at the reception. To add to this there was a problem with the booking which meant two people were booked instead of four this meant a long wait and a change of rooms where there was no air con just two fans. Although on the positive side the pool area was lovely and very quiet in the morning when we sat and went in. Theres a little courtyard where you can eat your breakfast which is lovely.

A fabulous hotel with secure parking, a lovely pool, garden and breakfast. Friendly helpful staff and generous rooms - ours had a balcony with chairs and a table that made for a lovely evening.
