Hotel Haus am Zoo

comfortable and big rooms- nice and helpful staff-

My company exhibits at the A+A trade fair which happens every two years at the nearby Messe Dusseldorf and we always use the Hotel Haus am Zoo for our team accommodation. It really is an oasis of calm away from the hustle and bustle of the fair. The staff are friendly and most speak English, the rooms come in various shapes and sizes but are always comfortable and clean, the breakfast is a well-stocked buffet including hot items and the free public transport ticket available at reception together with the nearby Tram and U-Bahn stops puts the rest of the city within easy reach. We'll be exhibiting again at A+A 2019 and we won't be staying anywhere else!

This is a lovely, traditional, welcoming hotel in a quiet residential area. It's 10 minutes walk from Düsseldorf Derendorf station which is itself only a 5 minute train ride from the airport. The hotel is a 20 minute tram ride into town, and it gives out a ticket entitling you to free public transport within the city (including back to the airport). The staff are helpful and friendly. The rooms are comfortable (although there is no air conditioning). Lovely powerful shower. The wi-fi is fine, but you only get one connection. The breakfast is an amazing buffet with something for everyone.

Stayed in this hotel for three nights. Excellent accommodation and lovely friendly staff. Easily accessible to city centre. Lovely pool and garden area. My partner left his watch in hotel room and the hotel promptly posted it out to us in Scotland. Well impressed with the honesty of the staff and promptness in finding it. Thanks for a memorable stay. Would highly recommend and hope to return in the near future.

Disappointed in location; however, the hotel issued a free public transport ticket for duration of the stay. Suite was outside behind the main building. They did not help my 70 year old mother or young child get the suitcases up the tile stairs. So, I had to make many trips with the suitcases. The pool was cold, unclean, and we didn't feel comfortable to use it. The room itself was comfortable and pleasing. It was air conditioned but we could not control the temperature in the room. It was controlled by hotel staff. The staffs English was limited and most were unfriendly and impatient.

My wife and I stayed here when we visited the Christmas market.the hotel is situated 20minutes by tram from the main shopping area.the staff were friendly and spoke English. The breakfast were amazing. Hotel is very traditional and exceptional clean . dusseldorf his a vibrant city fantastic shopping and restaurants. Well worth a visit. Great value for money. All off the rooms stayed in are clean comfortable and of good standard. Nice garden with swimming pool for warm summer evenings. Always a good breakfast. Staff are helpful and polite. Not been in a better "family run" hotel. A unagressive place to calm down in.
