It was clean, comfortable and relaxing.

Friendly staff, comfortable room restuarants had good range of food.

Not a breakfast option when booking.

I think the hotel and location were lovely from the outside.

The bedroom decor was awful,filthy mattress,carpet,genuinely in need of improvement and a big transformation ,although really pleasant staff.

Just returned from the Argyll Hotel and can’t praise it enough. Very clean with lovely helpful staff. Food was lovely.

Shower was fiddly

Nothing much. Unfortunately, I am unable to leave positive feedback for this property.

It was nothing like the online photos, especially the bedroom, which was in the eaves of the property. We were sold a double room that has a bed which doesn't fit 2 people - see photograph proof of this. This is contrary to trade descriptions and consumer protection regulations. It is misleading and the online photographs are a misrepresentation of the property. To be clear, it was not a 'small double' bed; we measured it, you can see this clearly from the size of the mattress in the photo and how far over the edge of the bed the pillow hangs. The mattress itself was well used and frankly worn out. For those wondering why we didn't complain earlier than checkout, we did not 'assess' the size of the bed on arrival; we've stayed in plenty of small rooms before, it's not about the size of a room. Also, the room was set out to look like a double bed with pillows plumped and angled over each other - see photo of how we found the room. As this was a one-night stopover, whilst the room was disappointing at first glance, we felt we might manage, so left our bags and went for a walk. It was not until we tried to use the room and sleep that the impracticality and the reality became apparent. The corner had damp under the peeling wallpaper. We didn't use the shower - see photos. The single Velux window with blind is neither soundproof nor keeps out light. I can't post sound files but I have recordings of drunks shouting in the street outside at 2am that were coming through the window loud and clear. The sunlight at dawn was streaming through. We packed up and left this property before 8am just to get away from it. I left feedback on checkout about the misrepresentation and advised I would pursue a refund via the booking agent. When Booking.com contacted them they refused to accept the complaint and offered no apology or recompense.

Hotel Location is very good, handy for the shops and bars etc. Check in was good, a young female checked us in and was very friendly.

Room was dated, shower was nothing more than mildly warm, I could hear someone on the toilet in the next room (I hope there ok because it sounded wild) one of our rooms had a double bed not two singles. Some of the staff where not overly nice especially the guy who was on Saturday night, wouldn't allow us to sit in the bar with some chips and get another beer, must be the only hotel I have stayed in that wont allow this.

Great location very friendly staff and great food.
