Château de Gilly

Lovely location and easy parking. However, there was no water upon arrival for several hours and no apologies or amenity offered due to that inconvenience. The room was nice, with a modern bathroom. However, I was turned off by the breakfast cost of 26E pp. When I inquired why, and why the breakfast reviews were so poor before arriving, I did not receive a response. I expected better in light of the beautiful surroundings.

Det här är inte ett femstjärnigt hotell. Parken oxh poolerna är igenväxta och inget underhåll verkar äga rum. Förlegat med personal som inte pratar engelska. Dyr frukost som inte levde upp till förväntningarna. Dessutom en kyrkklocka som ringde utanför vårt fönster 07.00 varje morgon. Bad om separata täcken och får upp två täcken utan påslakan. Det fick vi be om igen och bädda själva. Det finns en hel del att anmärka på och det är allt annat än modernt.

Nous avons beaucoup aimé ce court séjour. Très bel endroit (nous avions pris une chambre de la catégorie la moins chère, tout à fait agréable quand même), très bonne cuisine à prix raisonnable à notre avis, accueil très sympathique, et architecture par endroits spectaculaire: la salle du restaurant à vous gothiques vaut le déplacement.

Séjour convenable, infrastructure surannée mais dépaysante. Personnel sympathique mais service pas au niveau d’un 5 étoiles. Cadre sympathique. Resto trop cher pour la qualité de la cuisine.

Tres bel endroit dans un joli parc. Un chateau comme on l'imagine (plancher qui craque, longs couloirs pas forcement fonctionnels,...). Personnel accueillant et serviable. Excellent petit dejeuner avec des produits de qualite. Par contre, la suite junior n'etait pas du tout conforme aux photos (tres sombre, meublee chichement avec une salle de bain tres grande mais peu fonctionnelle - pas de rangement - et avec une douche bas de gamme logee dans une sorte de placard!). OK pour une niut, mais pas plus. Est-ce digne d'un quatre etoliles?

This was our third time staying here. The experience was still as magic as the first time. Staff is super! Friendly, helpful, cheerful, best you can wish for. Chateau is in a tip-top shape, great beds & showers. Restaurant is excellent. Surroundings are gorgeous too. We hope to come here many, many more times.
