"Lovely weekend. Room was small and needed an update"

The building is stunning and you can see why it must have been opulent in its day. The staff were friendly and helpful. The maid was exceptionally kind with our dog and letting us back into our room when I left the key inside

The room had the facilities we expected. The room was tiny and needed an update. We felt we were shoved in there because we took our dog. Also the parking costs drove the cost of the weekend up, but not the hotels' fault.

"Overall, my stay was very good, as it has in the past."

Having stayed at the Royal a number of times I knew the location suited my requirements in terms of it being not far from Scarborough cricket ground.

The bar shutting at 10.30pm.

Looks great on outside!

Reviews was good on booking.com My own fault I should of checked google reviews Before booking. Hotel itself looks great reception area etc looked fairly decent. Rooms themself extremely dirty, considering the price you pay. The street outsides was much cleaner. Would not recommend.

"System for car parking and discount was not clear, cost me £24"

Location, staircase

The rooms were like warrens of corridors took me half hour to find my room up some stairs round the corner to more stairs and then through a door. The bath grouting was mouldy looking, and no kind of milk or sachets of milk for tea and coffee in the room! the buffet for breakfast ran out of cups both days I was there and very small selection of fruit,sausages were off on Sunday morning the 14th June The bed was small and only 1 pillow each with no option for more, bathroom light flickered which was irritating.

"Acceptable stay but I won’t be rushing back."

Location is good and breakfast was tasty.

Barman was rude, bandy tasted more like diesel! Was old and had turned! House keepers were very noisy through the night.
