Grand Velas Riviera Maya - All Inclusive

Let’s note some of the highlights - the staff was awesome. The concierge really did some nice touches to make my kiddos smile - so kudos there. The property is beautiful - the jungle pools are a must (which I always know we are paying for the beach - but truly - go spend a day at those pools. There was almost no one at the property which was really nice (but also confirms the resort is overpriced for the value - as I’ve traveled to multiple locations in Cancun at this same time of year for comparison) The food - multiple restaurants weren’t open because we visited in October - so you are already limiting your options…which is even more disappointing- because if you are traveling with kiddos - you aren’t even able to access some of the daily options (for lunch we were limited to one restaurant which the food wasn’t that great - but you are stuck with it every day). This was a huge letdown. I chose what I thought was the much more luxurious resort in Grand Velas to enjoy the food - and sorry to say - big disappointment. MOSQUITOS - we seriously made a game out of how many we could kill a day because there are so many. They tried treating for them around the property while we were there - but they are everywhere. My advice is to select somewhere in the Hotel Zone. Much better, no mosquitos, and better bang for the buck. Other 5 star resorts were 3K cheaper than this - and I am of the belief I would’ve had a better time staying at these other options. It is hard finding luxury spots that are kid friendly - but I’m just giving my two cents for those looking.

We had an amazing time at Grand Velas Riviera Maya. The location is stunning, the hotel and ocean suites are gorgeous, and the food is delicious! But what sets this resort apart is the service - the staff go above and beyond. You can tell that it is their pleasure to be there and make your stay exceptional. And a special thank you to our personal concierges, Braulio & Alfonso, Enrique who assisted us during our stay, to make sure we had a memorable experience!

We had a phenomenal stay! Alfonso, Enrique and Braulio were our concierges during our trip and they were all so kind and attentive! This was our 2nd stay at the resort and we will definitely be back!!

I honestly could not say enough great things about this resort. And I'm not sure whether my husband and I had more fun or our kids. This place is incredible, the service was impeccable - actually even superior to any we've experienced at other luxury hotels and resorts. Our kids are still talking about our concierge Alfonso Alamilla who went out of his way DAILY to make us feel special and welcomed - between gifts and surprises for our kids to helping us recover lost shoes at the pool - he put a smile on all of our faces daily!

Our trip to Grand Velas was truly magnificent! Everything was just EASY (which is not always the case with a 3 and 6 year old!). Our concierge, Luis, took care of anything we needed while we were there and was always available to help with any questions we had. The resort itself was so family friendly but also had amazingly elevated experiences for the adults as well! The food was spectacular! On our last night, we skipped the restaurants and went to Tacology which was the perfect end to a wonderful trip!

If you have the chance to be served by the concierge team—Baurillo, Alphonso, Enrique, and Carlos—you’re in for a treat! They became like friends, greeting us every morning with daily events and reminders about our dinner reservations. They went above and beyond by bringing medicine to our table when our daughter was sick, a beach ball to the pool, and snacks for our excursion. Meanwhile, Iran and Nehemiah provided endless drinks and food at the pool, while Reyes pampered us at the beach. We felt completely taken care of throughout our stay. I highly recommend this resort for its exceptional service and delicious food!

We spent SB ‘26 at Grand Velas Riviera Maya and had the most incredible time!! Gorgeous views, delicious food, amazing amenities, but the best reason to go is the incredible staff! They made sure we had everything we could need and even suggested items that we didn’t even know we needed! We especially loved Erika in the karaoke bar (you must her her sing!!), Reyes at the beach, Iran at the pool, Jesus at Cocina de Autor. Our concierge team was INCREDIBLE: Carlos, Alphonso and Braulio were always there to assist with anything and they went above and beyond to make our trip special from the welcome champagne toast to (for me) a tearful departure!! Our kids can’t wait to return one day! De Cora on, Gracias!

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at this stunning hotel. We have stayed in some beautiful resorts across the world but this one really is something else and would easily be one of the best we have ever stayed at. The service we received across the resort was exceptional. Massive thanks to our personal concierge team - Jeronimo, Braulio & Alfonso - they couldn’t have done enough for us during our stay & they really did make our trip incredibly special & hassle free. The views are stunning, there is a wide variety of restaurants and different cuisines. The night life was fantastic, especially for kids. There was a Disney theme one night, fire shows, Mexican themed nights - it really had it all. If you are into fitness there are numerous activities during the week, we done the boot camp on the beach which was fab, sunrise yoga was also beautiful, aqua aerobics in the pool & there is a bike ride in the mornings too. We traveled with our 10 month old baby and it really was a perfect resort for him, the room was filled with all baby amenities including a bottle steriliser & baby bath, there is even a baby food menu! They organised a bubble bath for our boy too which was a lovely touch. Can’t recommend it enough for families / young kids. There is so much to do you will not be bored, we also organised to swim with dolphins which was brilliant & also a trip to Chichen Itza - a must do when in Mexico & when you fly the whole way from Ireland! ;) Highly recommend this resort - don’t think twice. Just book & enjoy :) The coconut margaritas are worth it! ;)

I have never written a review for anything in my life, so I hope this gives you comfort in knowing this is genuine and sincere. I have been going to Grand Velas for the past 17 years. I have been lucky enough to see and experience some of the most beautiful and luxurious places in the world, and while Grand Velas is no exception, nothing has compared. That's why we keep coming back. It is simply the people and culture they have cultivated there that yield an indescribable product. That overarching sense of peace and pure vacation is truly felt most here. From the amazing food, which removes a major stress factor, to the clean beach, endless variety, and the all-inclusive factor, it creates an overwhelming sense of pure autonomy and complete lack of friction. No isn't an answer because they were told never to say no, but because the person you are speaking to genuinely wants to care for you and enjoy the place they take pride in contributing to. Antonio at the front entrance is a legend. He helped us on our very first trip there. I was 5 years old. We just took a selfie at the same spot 2 months ago :). Felix, in the breakfast and lunch spot, is always smiling, super funny, and is just a tremendous waiter. He gives my whole family a hug when he sees us. Adrian, on the concierge team, is pure class; personable, funny, and kind. These adjectives can describe every single person there. These are just some of the people I have been lucky to know, and I hope you get to know them too.
