A very disappointing experience. A horrendous

Beautiful hotel very conveniently located between attractions some of which are walkable. The main pool is lovely and spacious but it is across a main road so technically not a beach front hotel. Service is exceptional too.

Outrigger is a great option for a family holiday in Samui. It's luxurious without being intimidating. We felt very relaxed walking about with sandy feet and wet hair and turning up for evening drinks straight from the pool. The building is beautiful. The colonial terraces and palms surrounding the quieter pool at the heart of the complex is particularly special. Our garden terrace twin room was large and kept immaculately clean. We didn't really need the small patio area but it does make it feel very private. I think if I booked again I'd ask for a room around the small pool. We had the half board package which worked well for a family of fussy eaters, and dad who still got some tasty Thai fare! It's gorgeous eating dinner on the beach surrounded by fairy lights and to the sound of lapping waves. More dessert options would be good. And I do think free water should be provided at dinner when you have a meal package: it's very expensive at the restaurant and yet they provide litres of it every day to the room. Breakfast is ample and tasty and the dining room never feels crowded. A nice little bonus of the room type we booked was use of the 47 lounge. We developed a lovely tradition of popping in for snacks, a cold drink, and a family game of cards each evening. The chocolate cake and tiramisu were very moreish! We also avoided paying over the odds for drinks later by getting our fill for free during happy hour as part of the package. The earlier "afternoon tea" is table service and felt a bit intimidating especially if there were not many guests. I think this would be better done self service like the evening session. The kids club is really well set up either for free play or at the wonderfully creative craft sessions. What those ladies can't do with a straw or two isn't worth knowing! Some of the more big group dependent activities, like the disco, were poorly attended though. For such a seemingly large hotel it didn't seem crowded. There's a collection of pools by the beach but you don't really struggle to find sun beds and there's never a queue for the fun little water slide. You can order food and drinks to your sunbed but we tried to avoid the expense of this. There are two very well stocked 711s nearby but you can not take food into the pool area. All in all a great stay but what really makes it stand out is the staff. They work so hard and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. We want to thank Nut, Mui, Ice and Michael for making our kids feel so special every day. I will really miss walking into breakfast to be greeted by your smiling faces. Truly exceptional.

Gorgeous hotel and overall really enjoyed our stay in Lamai. Lots to do, breakfast was amazing and Edgewater restaurant is good for happy hour drinks but would recommend eating out as there is so much better for less. Rooms were modern and cleaned well. Crossing road for beach and pools wasn’t an issue for us at all and the staff on crossing were really kind and helpful in general. We didn’t use the pool across the road as it was often busy and really loud with lots of kids (to be expected as a family hotel). The pool near rooms was better and mostly a chilled vibe but it would be much better if this was an adult only pool (not just for those without kids but for parents when kids are in the club). This was the only thing I think the hotel should really consider! Everything else was gorgeous.

We stayed for 8 nights as a family of 2 adults and 2 kids (11 & 15) in 2 interconnecting rooms. This was ideal as it meant there was plenty of space for us all. Beds were comfy. In each room you get complimentary toiletries, AC, hairdryer (although quite outdated) water and robes. We asked for an ironing board as not in the room. If you need to order extra amenities there is an app to order these. There was a smaller quieter pool near our room which we didn’t use as there isn’t any cafe or activities there. By reception there is a games room, kids club and laser tag. There are beach activities in the evening too like volley ball. Across the road is the main restaurant, various pools (1 deep - I could just about touch the floor) 1 kids with slide and another 2 smaller shallow ones. Just behind is the beach. Theres plenty of loungers and seats. Crossing the road isn’t an issue there’s 2 attendants there 24/7. The restaurant has good options Thai and English. Plenty of drinks and cocktails too. There is happy hour every day 4-6. You have to sign a slip with room number each time you order something. The staff are very attentive and always asked if we needed anything. Kim, Michael, Nut, Ice and Jeremy were great and always playing and entertaining the kids. We usually grabbed a cab just outside the hotel to go exploring. Whether taxi drivers could speak English was hit and miss but not a problem as we always found were we needed to go on google maps and showed them. We visited Pig Island, Overlap, Elephant sanctuary and night market. All great. Breakfast had a little of everything, Thai cuisine, bakery, English, continental. Around the hotel we went for breakfast at nearby Toast - they had great smoothies, eggs, desserts and lunch options. We also went to the Hut along the beach. We ate a fancier meal at the Cliff which had amazing views. The gym was a little small if more than 4 people. Overall we had an amazing time and will definitely be back!

Absolutely wonderful stay at this fabulous hotel The staff just sum up what the culture in Thailand is all about Rooms were clean and spacious If I had to pick a negative it would be the gym was slightly small but it enabled me to have some well deserved rest 😂 I would recommend this place in a heartbeat Michael, Kim, Ice and Nut at the pool restaurant are awesome and made our holiday an even more enjoyable experience There's a lovely cafe if you come out of the hotel and turn left about 4 doors down called TOAST highly recommend the Eggs Benny Will definitely be back very soon Thanks guys for making our trip unforgettable and see you all soon

Lovely pool with excellent view of the beach.

Good location. Not on beach. If using VIP perks, you must constantly be on top of them or they ‘misunderstand’ and do not give any of the perks. Beautiful building. Rooms are loud especially with the may children staying.
