Amazing food and service.

We stayed here for eight nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location beside the beach is ideal. We enjoyed the wonderful breakfast, the gym, fantastic walks on the beach, and the local restaurants. The pool inside the hotel area was perfect for one relaxing day too. Staff were lovely and the bedroom was really comfortable. We will definitely be back again.

To our surprise, the advertised " Beach Front Hotel" was divided in two separate entities. The rooms were on opposite side of the beach hence no ocean view. The beach is NOT swimmable. The pools were great yet too many kids all over. Restaurant food was ok. We paid over $260 a night and breakfast was not included like others. Watch out for umbrella falling on you while relaxing at the pool. Management was attentive after it happened. There are two security personnel who stop the traffic for you to cross the road; 24/7 under heat! Thanks to them!!!!

Just returned from what I can honestly say was one of the best holiday experiences we have had in many years! We read the reviews of this hotel before travelling and decided to just go with it, despite some of the "negatives" about beach being across the road etc, but honestly, this was an absolute plus! this enabled the accommodation (which was beautiful) to be quiet and uninterrupted by any noise. The beach although small, was perfectly fine! Clean and Tidy! the Pools were amazing, and the View! just Wow! so didn't feel the need to swim in the sea, water was clean and checked regularly. abundant sunbeds with fresh towels provided by smiling staff and delicious food in the Edgewater restaurant. yes, a little pricey in Thailand Terms but definitely tasty! The main hotel complex is just absolutely stunning! So much character and beautiful grandeur with an additional large pool in the courtyard which was our "on way back from the beach last dip" before heading to our room. The room was small but well laid out, and although no real view, was quiet and cool thanks to the much-needed air con! Great Wifi which never let us down, even when across at the beach pool. Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable! We spent so little time in the room anyway apart from sleeping! We chose the B&B option, (Breakfast was extensively catered, a little repetitive but we were there for 3 weeks!) so as not to limit our choices for food and used the evening to go out an explore the area, with plenty of choices in nearby Lamia and around the hotel, with all budgets catered for, we were not disappointed and did not have 1 bad meal in the 3 weeks we stayed at the hotel! All in all, a completely amazing hotel, gorgeous staff and a very happy couple desperate to return again. Thank you Outrigger Team!

WOW! We loved our week at the Outrigger Koh Samui - The bedrooms were beautiful, beds huge and comfortable, bathrooms immaculate. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is outstanding. Even though our room overlooked the hotel pool we never used it as we were always in the pools on the seafront, yes you have to cross a busy road but there are always 2 member of staff who stop the traffic for you. The sea directly in front of the beach club isn't the nicest to swim in so you just have to take a wander up the beach to find nicer sea swimming. The "Hut" beach bar along the beach to the right serves great food and cocktails at brilliant prices. the ladies offering massages on the small pier directly opposite are so lovely and their massages are excellent. There is a price board on the beach - it's around 400b for a 1 hour massage. Bargain! Food and drinks at the beach club are excellent if a little pricier than other local options. The daily happy hour (2 for 1 cocktails) helps! Lamai is a 20min walk or 200b red bus trip away. Tonnes of eating options including a night market. It is definitely worth an evening trip to the Fishermans Market in Boh Put - about 500b taxi ride away. We enjoyed the hotels half day trip to Pig Island too - great value for money, snorkelling / lunch / pigs all included! We would highly recommend this hotel and would love to return!

Very impressed with the resort overall. Staff were extremely helpful and polite. Very clean rooms and bathrooms. The resort has an app that the guests can use to request amenities and room service. Breakfast was very good. Beautiful open space to enjoy the warm climate. The spa was not good. I booked a treatment and canceled. There were basically a few salas with massage beds. It was in the pool area. So no privacy. I didn’t feel comfortable with having a massage so close to other guests that were relaxing around the pool. It wasn’t a spa at all. Edgewater restaurant is quite expensive and food isn’t great. The beach and restaurant are across the road from the main hotel. It wasn’t a problem because it’s a little street with a pointsman. The beach directly in the hotel vicinity isn’t a swimming beach. The water is a bit dirty and rocky. You have to walk about 5 minutes to get to a nice swimming area.

We had a great stay and thanks to all the attentive staff during our time there. The hotel is well built with impressive grounds and lots of options for swimming. Our club Lamai suite was huge and perfect for our small family. The bed was extremely comfortable with two choices of pillow firmness each. Housekeeping staff did a great job of cleaning the room daily without disturbing our mess. Breakfast was a definite highlight, with all the options that you’d expect in a 5-star hotel in Asia. The baby croissants were perfect and the fruit was fresh and tasty. We chose this hotel because it had a Kids Club, our 8-year old only went for an hour twice for some crafty activities (which was not our intention, we would have liked him to be there quite a lot more). The staff were really lovely and had we had a younger child we would have been very happy to leave them for longer periods. When there were kids in there they were having a great time. Prices as expected for food and drinks at the pool and restaurant. If you want a cheap meal go to one of the many great Thai places dotted around the hotel, or further up the road in the main part of Lamai, which is a 15 minutes walk along a busy road or a much nicer walk along the beach. I’ve read a few criticisms about the busy road you have to cross to get to the front pool and restaurants, and the quality of the beach out the front. As for the road, there were two guards on duty at all times that we needed it and they safely helped us across every time. It’s the main road in Koh Samui and Thai traffic does what it wants. The beach is more of a tidal flat area out the front and you need to walk a few minutes to get to the actual beach. On the other hand the pool and the views are prefect for relaxing and having a dip. I had many nice moments gazing over to the mainland and watching storms brew on the horizon. If you don’t want to cross a road or you need to have a nicer beach out the front I’m sure there’s many lower quality resorts of the same price or much more expensive hotels to choose from. For us, the place was perfect and provided everything we expected and surpassed them all.

Whole resort very clean, very well equipped and organised. The staff is absolutely professional. As a tourist spending a few days w family you can not want more than what the place is offering. The location (lamai beach) turned out to be optimal as compared to the other 2 beaches further north (cjewang and bophut). Not because of the beach itself (because that is better further north) but because of the lower crowd in lamai. It is just more relaxed and better to manage.
