OUTRIGGER Koh Samui Beach Resort

We had 5 nights here. Very nice hotel, set back from the road so very quiet. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Well positioned on Lamai beach. Breakfast was very good, with good variety. Staff were all very friendly. Recommend this as a good place to stay.

Lovely classy hotel on the southern part of the island. Not far from the airport but far enough not to hear any planes!. The food was great especially the ribs and the selection was good, we would highly recommend full board!!. The drinks are expensive but the staff were amazing. The pool area and pool itself was really nice and the air condition worked well in the rooms. The Thai people in general are very welcoming and we would highly recommend a visit to the island.

Really lovely place to go. Room spotless, bed comfy, food great, staff really helpful & friendly. Huge thankyou to Jeremy for making everything so easy & for being so approachable, Michael in Food/Beverage for fantastic service & helpfulness & Ice for all her assistance. Had a slight problem with freeflow & it was fixed very quickly. Really impressive. A little out of town, but that wasn't a problem at all. We loved it.

We loved our stay at the Outrigger. The staff are what makes this place so great. Every member of staff were kind and friendly, exceptionally hard working and polite. I wish I could remember individual names but special thanks to the security team that help you across the road at all hours of the day, the gentleman that mans the egg station (he is a master of his trade, I don’t know how he manages to remember everyone’s orders and cook 5 omelets simultaneously) and Jeremy in guest relations. I would recommend this hotel to anyone else visiting Samui.

The food was outstanding the staff around the pool we amazing and always ready to help. The front desk staff and the managers were friendly helpful and always willing to have a chat. Bed and pillows were fabulous I slept like a queen, as we had a pool room we swam early every morning before our wonderful breakfast. The area was a lot quieter than central so we could relax and enjoy our 10 day stay. Thanks to the amazing team for making our experience wonderful each day. Miss you all cheers Rhonda

Awesome hotel - great staff and very welcoming

We stayed here for 5 nights last week in a garden family room. The hotel is immaculately kept, room was very clean and plenty of water provided. Bunk beds were ideal for the kids, bed nice and comfortable. Pool is lovely, with a few different parts to use, and nice views over the beach- never had a problem getting sunbeds either!. The staff are very friendly indeed, and super helpful, especially Norbert on the front desk, and Michael at the pool bar who is great with the kids! Food is really good at the beachside restaurant - we ate once here whilst the fire show was on, and the breakfast buffet is also very good too- plenty of choices. To be honest, I would recommend doing bed and breakfast here, unless they offer you a silly price on half/ full board, as the atmosphere at night is muted at best, I think most people go off to Lamai or Chaweng to restaurants as it’s certainly livelier. Maybe eat there once, then go out and about. Lamai is a 15 min walk or a 300 baht tuk tuk ride away, and there are also very good options just outside on the road - imchai and new hut being two. That said, we had a lovely experience here and would definitely come back

Main hotel area is clean, modern and well maintained. Bedroom very comfortable and well equipped. It had a small balcony which we could stand on but inexplicably there were no chairs so we couldn’t sit outside. Nearly all the rooms are essentially built around a small pool with the large breakfast area adjacent. The hotel staff are generally friendly, especially the guy who makes the omelettes. In the evening the main hotel area is deathly quiet, there’s nothing going on. The only place people can sit, apart from the hotel lobby, is the breakfast area which is in darkness. We saw people there socialising, playing board games etc but it was entirely lacking atmosphere. The gym was quite good but not very big, if four or five people were there it was crowded. To access the beach, bar, pool and main restaurant you have to cross a very busy road. So busy in fact they have security guards to escort you across safely. This area wasn’t very inviting either. It was all very confined, with limited space and frequently crowded. The actual beach adjacent to the hotel was small and dirty with rubbish and seaweed. A natural land pier abuts the beach and this acts as a barrier which catches all the sea debris. The hotel is aware of this but for environmental reasons they leave everything in place for guests to see. The hotel markets itself as five star but it isn’t. The limited and cramped facilities plus poor beach made for a disappointing holiday. The nearby town of Lamai was probably quite pleasant about twenty years ago. There were some good restaurants around but unfortunately the place seemed quite seedy and a bit of a dive. After a couple of trips we avoided the place.

Lovely freindly hotel in a good location,The room's are very clean and maintained by Joy who looked after our room on our stay,the beds are very comfortable and plenty of pillows, little strange not having any chair's in there balcony to sit on but it wasn't an issue.. We were there for 2 Weeks and chose the all inclusive option Which there was quite a good selection of meals from the menu and all good quality food,however it became a bit repetitive having the same menu for lunch and evening meal would have been nice to have some more lighter meals to choose for lunch e g' toasties snacks and sandwiches etc you don't always want big meals. All inclusive drinks menu also a little limited milk shakes not available unless you pay for them Which is a first for us even our last outrigger hotel they were included.. A big thank you to all the staff at the Edgewater they we're all Very accommodating to our asks and made our stay lovely we had many nights of fun and entertainment at the bar and restaurant in the evenings, Michael and his team Noo Taktu Katie Mulan Nut(peanut)😆and the guy's behind the bar Eik and Miko who kept our drinks flowing 👍not forgettig Ploy a lovely girl she hadn't been there long when we arrived was always welcoming and again when she moved onto breakfast on our 2nd week.. The pools at Edgewater are very good and in a good position but can be Very noisy at times with kid's and they have the run of all the pool's Which can be annoying sometimes shame 1 pool isn't just for adults, but then you have the pools next to the breakfast bar at the hotel Which is more peaceful but downside of that no drinks aavaliable.. If you prefer a beach holiday then this isn't the place for you ,although the beach attached to the hotel isnt bad the main beach is dreadful lot's of rubbish,dirty and lot's of seaweed especially when the tide's been in and the sea is quit dirty in places..also there's a small harbour alongside the hotel beach look's nice from a distance but close up looks like a boat scrap yard so not very picturesque.. The pools and main restaurant and bar are located across a Very busy main road but there are always 2 very pleasant security guard's there 24hrs to help you across so it's not really an issue.. Overall our holiday and stay at the Hotel was lovely thanks to the Amazing staff mentioned ....

Amazing place with amazing people. My wife and I will definitely be back. Rooms are fantastic, food brilliant, the edgewater restaurant is very relaxing. Thank you outrigger 🙏🏼 Only small issue was the toilets get clogged with paper at times but very very rare. I still rate 5 star
