The Old Phuket - Karon Beach Resort

Fantastic! Great location, great room, great amenities!

Upon arrival we were greeted at the nice looking reception and as we were early and the room not ready we were ushered towards the shopping area. Once we got our room (serene wing) the room was very nice and spacious, The bed was incredibly hard though and I found the floor which was painted rather than tiled slippery with shoes on The room had a balcony overlooking the pool which was very pleasing to the eye, however you need to use the blinds and curtain if you require privacy in your room as the other block is directly in front of you. The WiFi was probably the worst I've experience in a very long time. The connection kept dropping and even when connected simple things like email didn't always work Breakfast had a wide variety of foods (English, Russian, Chinese etc) and was useful as it did not mean having to walk off site to eat During our stay we had some guest that were quite loud (slamming doors and shouting at 4am). When I complained to the staff there lack of English made me wonder if I was being understood. This was on our penultimate night so whether they sorted or not I will never know Overall, I had a good stay and after walking around and seeing the alternatives I feel we had great value for money. Tip: For lunch/ dinner go outside the vehicle entrance turn left and head towards the elephant cafe.and restaurant next door. Much better food for the money.

Building looks a bit old but cannot fault the staff, cleanliness or location

serene wing nice with poo laccess rooms upgrade if you can bit of extra comfort . other building my son had a room bit dated i was happy i wasin serene wing which also has bigger pool.

check in: the booker need to show print reservation paper when you checking in. rooms: good deco. but the certain not very clear, there are some blood on the certain. bedding: one cockroach on the bed in the first night we stay. the bedding sheet are not very clean in the second night stay another two nights are good. staff: staff in the reception was not very friendly. food: very fine.

Was actually looking forward to staying somewhere different this time in thailand. I had 2 Rooms booked one with 2Adults and 1child and the other 1 adult and and 1 child. They seem to think at this hotel that its fine for Grandma with hip problems and my 11 year old son to sleep in the same bed even though I had booked a single bed and a double bed. They wanted to charge us an extra 800baht( $32au) per night to make up another bed. I was not happy about this. Second day there the air conditioner started to leak through the vents into our suitcases, Then through the smoke alarm. Although this was fixed they just tapped dry the smoke alarm and put it back up not tested. Reception staff were not helpful and understood very little english.

Only stayed for half a day as we had a late flight out and our hotel was fully booked, but in saying that, I would stay here longer next time. Immaculate room, great pool, and a minute walk to dozens of restaurants

Room was musty smelling, furniture was stained, floors were also dirty and stained, BAD wifi connection in room. The staff took over 20 minutes to exchange towels at the front desk. And the worst of it, the staff gave us (two girls) a conjoined room WITH NO LOCK and on the other side were males! The only plus was it is across the street from the beach.

Lovely resort, very clean and very very friendly staff. We had a pool access room which was perfect, pool bar with awesome food and service right opposite. So relaxing.
