Hyatt House Richmond - Short Pump

I am a frequent Hyatt customer with more than 50 nights stayed to this point in 2025. Despite an excellent location at the Short Pump Town Center, this hotel is very poor representation of the Hyatt brand, and I cannot recommend it. I asked for daily cleaning and the check in associate told me the hotel industry doesn’t offer daily cleaning any longer at this property or really anywhere. I firmly believe they don’t offer daily cleaning, but it seems they don’t care much to make sure the hotel and facilities are clean and in working order. The shower was filthy and in a state of disrepair. There is only one working elevator for a six or seven story Hotel, often resulting in a 7 to 8 minute transit time from the sixth floor to the lobby. I left halfway through my two night stay to find a cleaner hotel after the room cleaning did not resolve my issue, but there was no attempt by the hotel to intervene in this.

Location was pretty good, at mall and close to many food possibilities

The rooms are old, not very clean and our room had black mold where the AC vent is! When I told about this at the front desk, they offered me a free Hyatt loyalty program entry. The gym has loooots of black mold too. 290$ for night in such poor conditions and moldy, smelly room is way too much. After I checked out they tried to book 12$ from my credit card and haven’t replied at my message why and for what.

Hyatt Place is a nice hotel in terms of itself, but what makes it so wonderful is it's location. It's at Short Pump Town Center which is a super destination in and of itself. There are so many great restaurants, shops, and even a Starbucks and Capital One Cafe with wonderful Verve coffee. It's a pretty outdoor mall and the location is very close to the Interstate, so easy to get downtown, Charlottesville, the RIC airport, Washington, DC, etc.

Staff was friendly rooms were clean and breakfast was delicious. I will definitely stay here again.

Quiet, spacious, clean

I have stayed at the Hyatt House Short Pump several times due to its great location, clean hotel, excellent service. Highly recommend
