"Annual Family Tradition"

10.0

This is our third time back to the Waldorf Astoria Park City. We all feel that we are part of their Family. Charlie the General Manager makes sure that no details missed during the stay. The restaurant Powder has great bartenders; Travis, Aaron and Kate handcraft your cocktails. Breakfast is a must; Mauricio and Ulises take amazing care of you. During dinner Dulia will pamper you and your family. The food is one of the best, if not the best in Park City. Chef Stuart and his Team serves you very creative dishes with amazing flavors. Jeff and his Team at the door provides you always a warm welcome and assist you with the house car. Lastly if you need anything, the concierge Team is always there for you; Dallin and Itzel was in constant communication with us and made sure that we are well taking care of even outside of the hotel. Thank you Charlie and Team for another unforgettable memory!

"Amazing Staff"

10.0

I would give the resort 6 stars if we could. The main reason for our review is the staff. Everyone we interacted with was very warm, friendly, professional, and hospitable. My wife got sick during our stay and the staff went our of its way to make us comfortable. I don't know everyone's name, but special thank you's go to Mitchell (Manager), Layla, and Itzyl (concierge). Aside from the service, our room was great and the food was really good. Just a first class experience.

"No Food. Bad Service. Premium Price = Very WRONG!"

2.0

Kitchen shut down. Gym shut down. Manager left his staff to fix issues..... badly. Vastly over priced for the situation and very badly handled mess! I paid a premium to get a Holiday Inn experience.

"The Waldorf Astoria Park City is terrible!"

2.0

Our recent stay at the Waldorf Astoria was extremely disappointing and far below what we expect from a property carrying this brand name. What is marketed as an ultimate five-star resort felt closer to a one-star experience where basic standards and guest care were consistently lacking. From the moment we entered the room, issues were apparent. We found hair in the shower upon arrival, and throughout our stay there was no hot water in the sinks. At a property of this caliber and price point, cleanliness and fully functioning plumbing should be absolute baseline expectations — not problems guests have to deal with. We arrived close to midnight after a six-hour flight, exhausted and planning to order room service. The room service line went straight to voicemail. After calling the front desk, we were informed that the restaurant was completely closed — not just for room service, but entirely — and therefore no room service was available at all. Instead, we were told we could order McDonald’s delivery. Being directed to fast food upon arrival at what is supposed to be a premier luxury resort was unacceptable. The lack of proper food and beverage standards continued throughout the stay. Basic five-star offerings were missing — for example, there were no non-dairy milk options for coffee to go, only regular milk. We heard multiple guests complaining about the same issue. At this level, having options like oat milk should be a given, not something unavailable. Amenities were also poorly managed. One of the two hot tubs was closed, leaving the other overcrowded and unusable. The pool was so cold that no one used it. These are core resort features, yet they felt neglected. Despite being marketed as ski-in/ski-out, the property does not truly offer that convenience. The “trail” back to the hotel is actually a golf course, which in February had no snow on it. Guests must walk to the gondola and ride it down just to return to the property — very misleading for a ski destination hotel. As we were departing on our final day, we noticed that the entire third floor — including our room — had developed a disgusting odor. We were grateful we were leaving as it became noticeable, but it was yet another example of how this property seemed to drop the ball at every turn. To make matters worse, much of the staff felt indifferent and disengaged. There was a noticeable lack of urgency, warmth, and accountability throughout our stay. This experience did not reflect five-star standards in service, amenities, or overall execution. Unfortunately, this stay was far below the level expected from the Waldorf Astoria name.

"Amazing stay and amazing staff!"

10.0

We spent four wonderful nights here. We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to our rooms that really created a WOW factor beyond our expectations. We dined at Powder throughout our stay and each meal was fantastic as was the wait staff. The staff overall is incredibly welcoming and warm. Shout outs to Jennifer who learned my mom loved marshmallows and sent extra s'mores to her room. Mitch, who always had a smile that could light up a room, combined with a fun sense of humor and the entire front desk team, plus Aimee and Kristin who were able to address any concerns or bumps along the way for our trip with guest satisfaction forward solutions. That was an absolute breath of fresh air. We absolutely are looking forward to returning.

"High expectations"

8.0

I had high expectations for such a well-known Waldorf Astoria property and brand. While the service overall was exceptional, there were several inconsistencies that fell short of what I expected at this level. When we checked in, the valet staff were openly arguing in front of guests about shuttle duties, parking, and luggage handling, which felt unnecessary and unprofessional. Room service was out of cookies by 6:40 p.m. due to being very busy, which was surprising. The room itself lacked basic amenities—there wasn’t even a full bucket of ice—which was disappointing, especially as an American Express Platinum member booking through the Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts program, where a bit more attention to detail is typically expected. The property is dog-friendly, which we appreciated, but there were no dog waste bags available in the 4th-floor pet area, so we ended up using the 3rd-floor area instead. That said, we weren’t completely disappointed. Breakfast was excellent, and we loved the hot chocolate offering (though extending it past 5 p.m. would be a nice touch). Overall, a good stay—but we expected more consistency and refinement from a brand of this caliber.

"At least we got comped."

6.0

Visited this hotel between Christmas and New Year’s. It was quite busy. Had a junior suite reserved for three nights at a cost of over 2000 per night. Upon check-in on Saturday evening, the only room they had available was a larger suite with a full kitchen. This accommodation was about as far from the lobby as you can get and faced directly into a retaining wall. The hotel is designed in the shape of a backwards C. For some strange reason, the lobby is not located in the center of the C, but at the bottom of the C. The room they gave us was located past the very top of the C, almost to the very end of it. When I got closer to the room, I just assumed that the hotel was one big circle, but it came to a halt. I did not time the walk, but it felt like several minutes. I have never seen a hotel designed like this. No one is going to be happy at the top end of the C. So I rejected the room, and waited several hours past check-in time for a closer room to become available. It took a manager to intervene to find a new room. Still a schlep, but it was closer. We had dinner in the hotel since there isn’t really any thing else within walking distance. The restaurant is rather small, and the service is sort of bush league. Our server was very rushed and stressed. We asked for bread and never got it. They ended up comping our dinner that night, which with a very expensive bottle of wine and tip came to over $700. Not because of the restaurant experience, but because of the room debacle. That helped. Pro tip: I have gold status with Hilton Honors, because I linked it to my American Express platinum card. However, I think of the Waldorf Astoria as a premium brand. This hotel was built way before the WA brand was established. They obviously acquired it from another owner and did nothing to upgrade it. Much about the facility is old and dog eared. Especially the rooms. Decor is dated. I found the bed to be too hard, and the pillows too soft. Also, the hot water in the shower was nearly impossible to regulate, resulting in either in an ice cold or scolding hot experience. We didn’t use the outdoor heated pool, but there were plenty of screaming children who did. Seemingly, from the wee hours of the morning until well past bedtime. Other shortcomings include poorly trained staff, valet parking that is supposed to take 10 minutes took 20, etc. I will give the hotel high marks, for the ski valet service. The Ski Butler’s outfitters did a great job fitting us with rental equipment, and the hotel is directly across the street from a lift that takes you to the main Canyons plaza. There are another couple of hotels there, which would have been more convenient to the slopes. From there, you have to take another lift to the base. if I were to go back to the canyons ski area, I would definitely stay at the Pendry, which is located at the plaza level one lift up. I actually tried to reserve this hotel, but it was sold out. I would not do the Waldorf Astoria again, and frankly, it has jaded my opinion of the brand.
