Mercure Goa Devaaya Resort

Beautiful resort, very well maintained.

Access is very limited as this resort is on a river island, need to take a ferry to cross the river every time you need to go somewhere.

Very nice staff (Rini and Ankur who worked in the restaurant were particularly friendly and helpful), delicious breakfast, spacious room, beautiful scenery around the resort...

Not the very best value for money as it was quite expensive during christmas season: WiFi was really bad (low speed, sufficient for sending or receiving messages, but streaming was barely working and WiFi connection interrupted quite frequently), the airport transfer that we booked didn't show up and we wasted almost an hour waiting at the airport, other small details can be improved (e.g. offering more water during the day, installing signs pointing to the restrooms close to the pool as we overlooked them during the first days)

Excellent location. Great staff, amenities and activities and good food. It is a well maintained property that is located in Divar island which is a blessing. They have fun activities like fishing, Housie, badminton etc and we all loved our stay here. The food served in breakfast and in other meals was pretty good and the staff were very warm. If you have not taken a ferry yet in Goa, get ready for this one. you just drive the car onto the ferry and they charge you Rs 10 for this. we found it pretty fun. the old goa traffic during december is something good to be forgotten. a couple of points to be looked into:- wifi is pretty flaky. we were in 1st floor and we barely had any wifi reception. the regular cellular network is pretty bad here so having a good wifi would be welcome. some door mats in the washrooms are much needed.

Breakfast Buffet was good and varied. Service was excellent, Hlutei, Ankur and the rest of the stuff were considerate and professional. The property is near Old Goa, and Vinod and the reception helped with planning the short excursions. The plants and gardens are well-maintained, so it's nice to walk around the properrty.
