They get one star because the front desk person was great. It’s dark. It’s dingy. Smoking hotel so be prepared. Few lights in parking lot and definitely felt unsafe. Had a bed and a table, underneath the table sat a fridge. A motel six room is superior. Biggest complaint is the false advertising on the web site. There is no bar. There are no places to eat. It is across the street and up the hill from casino. We went to casino to watch hockey match, drink and eat. The bar was closed in casino. Seriously no bar? They did have self service sodas…..whee…… only place to eat was fast food Asian. No sports bar, no tv and again NO drinks.

The complimentary items have diminished in value. Does not compare well with Motel 6.

A nice place to stay but could use updating.

We made the wrong turn and ended up at the casino instead (pictured). I’m terrified of boats so seeing this boat looking hotel immediately put me into fear mode. Thankfully it was the casino not the hotel. Upon arriving at the hotel, it looked dark and uninviting. In the lobby, it was also dark but like something from the Shinning. Creepy. Front desk was amazing! Super friendly. However, ice machine was broken on our floor and the one above. And our room didn’t have a microwave. We had to share it with the rest of the guests downstairs. Other than that, it was nice. Good for the price. And the river was across the way near the Casino.

Our bathroom was filthy. Mold on the walls, floor hadn’t been swept or mopped. The staff were friendly, we just wished it was kept up better.

We fell in love with Vicksburg. The hotel is as friendly as the rest of the community and so much to see.

Had a pleasant stay for 2 nights in early January. Check in was smooth with welcoming staff. Room was large with min-fridge and coffee maker (only negative is the way the coffee maker is stored awkwardly under TV). Bed was comfy. Shower took a few mins to get hot but was powerful. Room was clean. We chose the Ameristar because of its proximity to the casino and its location near the highway to the Military Park. THe hike up from the casino is a bit of a climb but overall, we found it fit our needs well.

The hotel and casino both have gone down in quality and cleanliness. This used to be a good stopping place for us, but now i wish i would have passed. We will not be staying here again. I also wish i could get a refund.
