Haijun Hotel

I strongly not recommended this Hotel... a very poor service and rude staff...

when we arrived, bellboy spoke english all OK. but the room stunk of cigarettes, room not cleaned properly, found mens underwear on floor, next day was ofered other rooms, but they smelled worst, so we stayed in the same room,(river view). breakfast really caters for chinese preferences. we stayed for 4 nights, could not unpack, from the smell, all rooms are smoking, people smoke in lifts, dining room, lobby, everywhere. Room was not vacumed the whole time, sheets are not changed daily, bathroom bench not cleaned properly. at check out, i had to pay for towel washing, because there was foundation makeup on face washers .We found that bazzar since we paid for a room with towels. I was not able to make a local phone call in the room phone because i had to pay a seperate deposit with credit card, on top of the credit card check in deposit that i had already paid. housekeeping was sign language communcation. i would like to thank bellboy william, and front desk Amy, for thier help, they were the ones who spoke english, thankyou. on the whole if you smoke and want a view,and dont eat breakfast, it is ok to stay here. this hotel was better previously 6 months ago, but not this time in mid may 2012.

The hotel is clean, the breakfast is a little light and Chinese, there is a receptionist friendly and it is near the river. Good place, difficult eating.

Unexpected charge : Taxes & fees ¥ 982.50 . Why...

This hotel is located right near the Pearl River. The night view is great. Convenient in traffic. It is in old area and you find cheat/non-expensive Chinese restaurant within a walking distance of 15-20 minutes.

if your comming with more friends it is best place to have party at night - it is in a major street of night clubs , cafes, bars and restuarants . service is o.k . breakfast has a bit pooker selection buffet .

Bai Ling Hotel is located by the beautiful Pearl River. I was fortunate enough to get a room with a view over the river. Very nice! There is a lot of street noise, but I think that would be the case anywhere in Guangzhou. Lots of cars (and car horns) everywhere! It is a big city and that is just something you have to get used to. The hotel staff was very friendly, but they did not speak English that well. Again, that might be true of many other hotels as well(?) Generally, the people in Guangzhou did not speak very good English. It was a bit of a problem sometimes. There is a free Wifi-Internet connection at the hotel, but it is extremely slow. Not quite happy with that. The breakfast buffet was very nice. Mainly Chinese dishes, but also some Western ones. Coffee, tea and juice as well. I liked it a lot! Generally, I think Bai Ling is a fine hotel. It has its Pros and Cons, but I would stay there again, should I ever return to the city.

We had a terrific room on the 12th floor, view of the river, huge room and the restaurantprovided the best meals in China, and that ws after a month on the road. I recommend the BBQ Goose, and get the stuffed egg plant, who knew it could taste so good. I have no problems recommending this hotel.

Dirty carpet and bath room, plumbing work required on shower room, takes long time for water to go after shower. Bath gel, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste etc are NOT complimentary. Be sure you bring them along with you. However hotel is only across the road from riverside, pubs and restaurants nearby. Think twice before booking this hotel.
