Bay Palms Waterfront Resort - Hotel and Marina

Our stay was wonderful, very quiet spot on the inter-coastal side of the Gulf. The places are small but have all the necessities. Very clean and the ceiling fans are wonderful.

Everything was as described and we enjoyed the quietness of our room and dock to relax and sleep while enjoying the beach front pool and games at the other resort. Only issue was our TV did not work at all and someone from the office said they would come by after they close up but never showed up.

We booked this through Booking.com. The rate quoted by Booking.com included”all taxes and fees”. We got to the hotel and they said the cost was $10 more for not booking directly with them. Not a big deal. The invoice we got from Booking.com and the invoice we got from the Hotel showed a difference of just about $10. Again no big deal. However, when we got our credit card statement we were billed exactly what Booking.com said we would be billed. However, we were separately billed $44.07 for resort fees for our 1 day stay directly by the hotel. That was the surprise. When we told Booking.com they said the hotel should not have charged us that and to contact them which we did. The hotel however would not budge and suggested the problem was with Booking.com and that any quoted price did not include the $44.07 resort fee. They refused to contact Booking.com to square this away. Even though their own invoice they gave us said that the total cost for the room was $122, it didn’t matter to them, As a result we were charged $157 for the 1 night stay and both are blaming the other. Frankly we have stayed here twice before but never again. The room they assigned us this time had a great view but was very tiny and the parking was a challenge. It seems that the family friendly atmosphere they portray has been hijacked by greed. Don’t fall prey to this. Go elsewhere. The Manager by the way basically suggested that with her attitude.

The ad quoted $143 per night and seemed competitive with other Hotels in the area. I was booking a trip 3 days in advance. As I added more people to the reservation, the cost went up markedly. I booked the room for 4 people for 2 nights. The room had 2 queen size beds and 2 sleeper sofas. After all the hooey hooey charges were tacked on it was $666.00. After hours of searching, I just went ahead and booked it. Then, one person on the trip got stranded in another state and her flight was canceled. She couldn't make it home in time. I tried to cancel and they refused to refund my money! I tried through Expedia and directly through the hotel. They told me to "read the fine print" - No refunds. After spending half of a day calling back and forth between Expedia and Bay Palms Hotel, they agreed to refund 1 of the 2 days. I then had to make the trip for1 day only, and they charged me $392.63 for one night. It wound up being a wonderful trip. The rooms are clean and just as advertised. Two days after I returned home, another charge appeared in my bank account. $44.07. What? You're kidding!!! I called the hotel directly. I was asked if I had read the policies. I was told it was a non-refundable charge for the hotel's amenities. I thought "What am I to do?" "Hire a lawyer?" So that was that. $436.70 for one overnight stay. This was not The Ritz or Park Hyatt! I will never go back, and wish all to know. I don't know any hotel that refuses to refund money with 72 hours' notice. Caveat Emptor

Find another hotel.

First the front desk staff Alexis and Alex were AWESOME! Alexis had such positive energy and was very welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately, this is a property for 2 ppl and not many more. We were planning to have 4 ppl stay and one of the pull out beds was broken and the couches were filthy. The main bedroom was descent, but we ended up checking out without staying. Definitely close to beach and has great walking distance for everything.

Overall we were very pleased with our stay! I would say parking isn’t ideal and that the check in process isn’t very convenient because it’s across the street and a few blocks down the road. The rooms were clean and we had everything we needed during our stay.

The hotel is Close to the beach. The pull out sofa was so worn out my son couldn’t sleep on it! They close the pools at sunset so around 7:45 at night which is way too early. The room was cleaned up but the floors were very dirty. You can tell they just sweep up and never mop them. The Parking lot is on the sidewalk and you have to back out into the main road which sometimes takes a while to get out and it’s sketchy. I wouldn’t recommend.

Just an overnight stay booked at last minute. Great views and several restaurants within walking distance. Parking not so great, having to travel back and forth while fighting traffic between the facilities was a little stressful
